This is a thread for those of us opening the Holland and Barrett advent calendar early, in November.

There will be SPOILERS as we discuss as we open

So please do not read on if you do not wish to know what's behind the doors Smile

As there are only the 25 doors, shall we start on the 6th November so it takes us up until the end of the month, or are we keen to start today?

I’m happy to wait till 6th, but will start earlier if others prefer.

Meant to be moving into new post-divorce house on 21st, but still waiting to find out what new lockdown rules are Sad

I'll admit I did open number 1 yesterday as I wasn't sure if anyone else would be doing the same, so happy to do either Smile. Oh, keeping everything crossed for you that it can still go ahead, if all of the 'in person' stuff has been done, hopefully it will be fine- I really hope so!

Right, well, I’ve decided to start.
Day 1 (6th), 20ml Sukin rejuvenating day cream. Looks nice, but I prefer to use moisturiser with sunscreen included.
Day 2 (7th), 15ml Dead Sea Spa Magik beauty balm cream. This does have SPF15, and I think may be a base layer for makeup. Except that I am the least competent commentator ever; I think I wore some eye makeup about 18 mths ago. Anyway, apparently it adapts to your skin tone, so it won’t leave you looking like Donald Trump (ooh, a bit of politics there).
Day 3 (8th), 10ml Evolve hyaluronic serum. Hyaluronic acid rings a vague bell; presumably it’s fairly dilute or it’ll take your skin off like paint stripper. Nice glass bottle.
Day 4 (9th), it’s enormous, as the actress said to the bishop: 250ml Ayumi turmeric and argon oil body wash. I think it’s sensible to have this as one of the larger products, as body wash is fairly generic. Having said that, it is specifically for combination and blemished skin, so I wonder whether someone with dry skin will get on with it. I’m an oily beast, so it’s very suitable. There’s a 25% off voucher on the back of the door, if you like it.
I would comment on the fragrances, but I’ve almost no sense of smell (predating COVID). Nothing has the waft of sweaty trainers anyway.
