Can matching tops and bottoms be worn and not look like pyjamas?

I like the ease of dresses. Now that the weather is changing and I've moved back into trousers I've begun to notice matching tops and bottoms could provide a similar ease in dressing, but I'm looking at casuals and they look to me like pyjamas. Do you know of any top/bottom sets that don't look like pjs?

I'm afraid you would look pyjama-ey or like you're in a cult. What about jumpsuits? I wouldn't personally but I hear they're great.

How about dresses with comfy tights?

I find cotton or wool tights very comfortable and warm.

I think my other post got deleted or didn't save. I was giving the example of toast ikat. Couldn't it look like a jumpsuit? Actual jumpsuits are never the right proportions for me.

Guessing you're not a fan of dresses with leggings?

Dresses and tights or leggings are very comfy.

Jumpsuits or jumpsuit effect were the only scenario I could think of that wouldn't have the pyjama look.

Depends on what you mean by matching.

I’m wearing black leggings, a black cami and a black v neck jumper. It all matches. It does not look like pyjamas.

However if it’s got snoopy or bunnies on, with little zzz’s, then yes it might.

I think I it depends on your height and the textures of the clothes you wear.
If you are short, then matching clothes will look like pjs or a tracksuit.
If you are taller, you can wear the same colour trousers and top but make sure they are two separate pieces rather than one outfit and break it up with accessories. EG black trousers and a black top look perfect together.
Maybe my interpretation is not what you mean though?

I love a co-it's, but agree that it depends on the material of the outfit that makes a difference. And the shoes you pair with it. What about some of these?

Aha, is it called "co-ord"? Thanks living, I'll have a Google!!!!

I agree shoes and accessories are important. I'm 5'7", so average.

I just want to say everyone was right; I bought a matching set and it looked like pjs. I've returned the outfit.
