What current fashions do you think will date badly?

I must say I haven't bought any clothes that are very "in" for a while.

It might be me getting older and losing touch, but I'm not a big fan of a lot of what i see in shops and online.

I don't think much to the odd oversized tailored blazers with cycling shorts and chunky trainers.

Which things do you think are really "in" as far as current fashion (or makeup) trends go and which things do you think people will look back on as the fashions of the 2020s and cringe?

It will happen....I thought the way I dressed was the height of timeless, classic style and elegance in the 90s, oh dear, how wrong I was!

Big brows and OTT make up / contouring / big lips etc

I think the “mum” style of Boden tops and skinny jeans will look very 2016

YY to the current 90s fashions looking ridiculous again

All the 80s revival stuff you see everywhere at the moment.
Agree re the massive eyebrows, contouring etc.

Ankle boots, midi skirts, high necklines, wrap dresses, shackets.

I'm wondering the beige cycling shorts and matching crop tops will be viewed in the future!

The cropped flared jeans too....

Came on to say the very shaped, big drawn-on-looking eyebrows!

All of it! Isn't that the way with fashion?

When we were in the late 90s and early 00s we'd look back at all the 80s style and think it was horrific: the permed hair and mullets, rara skirts, flekky tracksuits, leg warmers, chunky Nike boots, faded denim, over sized shirts, ski pants, shoulder pads - we thought they were all horrific, so much of it is back now!

It better not, as that describes my entire wardrobe Grin

Fashion doesn't seem as extreme as it did back in the 70s really, so I don't think it will fare too badly.

Oh loads of it - who cares. Laughing at yourself in old photos is part of the fun.

The huge white collars that are around at the moment. They look like panto costumes!

Caterpillar eyebrows.
Contouring (hopefully).
Those awful and very expensive MCM backpacks

I hope a big arse will stay in fashion for the years to come because mine is finally 'en vogue' Grin

It's interesting because as the years go by, your views on what's "classic" as opposed to what's "on trend" change without you realising. So for example, I think I pick plainer, classic items, but in decades to come, I might look back and not think that at all.

Oversized clothes seem very in at the moment. They look great on some people but somehow I just look like I've chosen the wrong size or borrowed someone else's clothes in them.

The midi lengths do nothing for me either. I wish they did, it looks so good on others!

Laminated eyebrows, they look like they've been electrocuted

Trout pout. So many young women will get old and regret not having a single picture of themselves smiling when they were young and carefree.

Colour block, obviously. It will fall out of fashion as soon as the colours bleed in the wash.

Tattoos. Will be the saggy, wrinkly age-indicator equivalent of granny's blue rinse, only irreversible.

My blue rinse will compliment my tattoos thankyou Katy and my future grandkids will no doubt enjoy asking me about the whys and wherefores of them all. I find they compliment the scars and wrinkles perfectly.

Some tattoos are amazing. Many are truly awful and I think getting shares in a tattoo removal service is a grand idea.

Trout pouts, trowelled on make up and EYEBROWS and fake tan. Looking at friends daughters photos they all look the same. But that’s what fashion is.

I haven't seen anyone in cycling shorts who isn't riding a bike. I wasn't aware it was a thing.

Not sure ankle books and wrap dresses are particular to 'now'

The current 'soap' brow trend. Looks beautiful on about 2% of people

I cannot remember a time when ankle boots were not an everyday thing. When did they first appear?

For me the trend that looks wrong is baggy faux leather trousers. They remind me of bin liners
