If I like The White Company..?

Can anyone suggest any other brands I would like?

Lots of my usual shops have closed, and I need something a bit classier than Next.

Neutral, not fussy, classy looking - I tend to buy White Company in their sale, or if I have a decent discount code, so not pricier if possible.

Thanks.

Mint Velvet is the nearest equivalent I've found. Not as many neutrals, but similar styles and materials used

there is absolutely no similarity to joules, they are very bright, lots of primary colours with a perennial boating by the sea vibe. and dogs, they put dogs on everything.

I live where there are several joules, fat face, white stuff stores and the look is very country casual. I'd say fat face is best quality for knits, but they lack the sleek luxury of white company knits.

white stuff again is very colourful, primary art teacher stereotype. Seasalt is a day in Bowness on windermere in a hailstorm.

I would say the closest would be mint velvet but poorer quality for extortionate prices. Toast and Plumo are less sleek and more chunky/rugged.

My advice would be cos. You can avoid the architectural shapes if these are not your thing, they have some nice, sleek basics which wear well including merino and silk.
Some John Lewis own brand, but not Kin.

for christ's sake avoid joules for knits they're worse than primark.

I agree. Meandem might be worth a look. Can I also add AllSaints? Everything I've had from there has been washed and worn a thousand times and lasted really well.

Jigsaw is worth looking at especially in the sales they have really good reductions, Reiss maybe & whistles, I like the look of some of the toast stuff but think you have to be quite tall & the knitwear is usually quite scratchy & it is very expensive unless on sale.
Sezane have some lovely stuff in good fabrics, but again quite pricey & again knitwear in itchy fabrics.

I like White Company but my favourite shop for classy neutral clothing is Poetry. A lot of it is quite loose and 'wafty' but I wear it either top or bottom with something more close fitting (and cheaper!).

Have a look at Saint and Sophia.

Ooh yes Poetry is a good shout, the clothes are lush. Shame it's so spendy.
I'd suggest Cos, Arket, Uniqlo, possibly some bits from Jigsaw

Thanks all, that's fantastic.

I do have some fat face, but they're more rugged outdoorsy (jumpers, coats etc). I like the White Company stuff because I can mix and match with work stuff as well.

I'll have a look at these suggestions and report back Smile

beatrixpotterspencil is right, White Company is nothing like Fat Face, Joules, White Stuff. In any respect. As PPs have suggested Poetry is an alternative that’s worth a look. I buy a lot from W C and sometimes Brora, Hobbs, or Jigsaw. No other company seems to offer the simple colour range that WC does, I guess that’s their USP and it works Smile

The Saint and Sofia collection looks great. I prefer more structured clothes, rather than anything too loose, these look good.
