Need winter footwear that's as comfy as trainers (or winter trainers if they exist)

Since Covid I've started walking every day, just to the local shops and / or around the park. I've lived in my trainers, and they are so comfortable. I can't see me going back to wearing uncomfortable footwear now. But my trainers are flimsy fabric, so I get wet feet if it rains.

Can any of you suggest some winter footwear that's just as comfortable for local walking? I'd be open to more trainers that feel more wintery but whenever I google 'waterproof trainers' I get lots of fugly looking black walking shoes.

I like the idea of an ankle height boot but with the bouncy soles of a trainer but haven't found anything like this so far.

I've got On waterproof trainers for winter running. They are quite rigid though compared to most trainers.

You could have a look at Rieker, might be the sort of thing you are looking for.

Thanks, I'll take a look. They don't have to be fully waterproof by the way, just not totally flimsy.

Something like North Face Hedgehogs maybe?
Goretex trainers do exist, and not clumpy looking things either. Try outdoor stores like Tiso, Blacks etc. But shop around for good prices!

Depends how much you want to spend but if looking for nice but good quality walking boots I'd recommend these:

Or

I've always found sketchers to be super comfy and worth paying for and they do some that look like boots or they do some that are more causal looking.

What about just a pair of leather trainers. I have a bog standard pair of nike leather trainers. While they're not waterproof they keep my feet dry when walking. If your out all day walking they probably wont keep your feet dry but an hour or two should be fine.

Any leather trainers would be more water resistant than fabric trainers.

Hyperfish101 I love those Veja high tops, I'll take a look at those North Face ones too.

Leather trainers sound a good idea, I'll google those.

And I'll check out those links and suggestions wannabebump and Alicealicewhothe though probably not after actual walking boots or shoes as I find them too heavy and stiff and clumpy.

Sorel boots would work - I have a couple of pairs, waterproof and comfortable.

Those Ecco and Sorels are great. Damn, now I want four pairs, the Veja high tops, the blue North face ones, the brown Ecco ones and some light brown Sorels. Need a lottery win.

I had a pair like this year's ago, was warm enough for standing on the touchline on Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning. Seriously comfortable too.www.skechers.com/en-gb/style/44777/synergy-cold-catcher/nat

Have a look at trail running shoes.
I’ve got a pair that are waterproof but lightweight enough for running.

I got those Ecco boots in tan, for walking the dog and general wear. They are very comfy, waterproof and they even passed my critical 18yr old dd who actually liked them!
