Talk to me about dungarees

I know they aren't to everyone's tastes so if you have just come on to say it's a no please don't :( I have just taken a wee want for a pair - are they comfy?? I was thinking the boyfriend fit as opposed skinny leg

I’ve been converted over lockdown. Mine are Fat Face Lewis (size down) and I think fit your criteria of boyfriend. I’ve worn them loads but I haven’t styled them in the way I thought I would. I assumed it would be plain Ts and maybe a stripe but actually I prefer them with a bright cami or a tight plain vest that shows my waist. So a bit less utilitarian.
Someone on here described the Breton stripe top with dungarees as a CBeebies presenter and I think they nailed it.
Will be throwing on an oversized chunky knit cardi for the winter. And big earings 😁
And yes, very comfy!

Thank you :) Haha yes I can see the comparison!! I was thinking warm knitted jumpers underneath for winter - I don't venture far so don't need to be stylish but don't want to put my OH off haha. I have never ever had any incling for dungarees either so maybe its a lockdown thing....

I love mine! I've got a black and dark blue pair.

I either wear with plain jumper or a Victorian style blouse underneath (sounds weird but swear it doesn't look it!)

I bought some from run and fly and they are so comfy!

I bought some recently and I love them! Mine are from Sea Salt. And now I’ve got a hankering for some more - probably some Lucy & Yak ones.

Wow I love dungarees so damn much but haven't worn them for years due to my ex telling me I look shit in them.
I may treat myself to some and send him a photo!
Following for dungarees advice.

I’ve probably got about 12 pairs ranging from Run & Fly (twill), Lucy & Yak (cords are my favourite) & a couple custom made. I like to wear really fitted tops/jumpers underneath (yes some do feature a stripe!) as I think it shows off my waist better. I pretty much live in my dungarees. Really comfy

I love a dunga and can’t see the prejudice against them. I wear mine a lot and have more than one pair. Lucy and Yaks are lovely for funky styles and Toast OAS great for a classic blue denim style.

I love them! I got some cheap ones from Sainsburys and live in them...I’d love some Lucy and yak ones!

I've been so tempted but can an under five foot person get away with it or will I look childlike?

The Fat Face Lewes ones are great. I wouldn't size down.

I like my dungarees to be a bit like the Bananarama look (Cruel Summer) and I love the Lucy and Yak Lunas. I dislike the printed fabric though. If you order L&Y, follow the size guide.

I also have Gap denim ones, short and long.

Recently bought some too (GAP) and they are HEAVEN! Partner called me Mrs Mop (I had a headscarf tied around my messy bun) and DSD told me I look like a farmer! Well balls to them - I look mad feel great x

I might look mad, but I meant *and!

I’d like to get some too, but looking for clip ones - I’ll be bf so don’t want to faff around with the Lucy and Yak ties. Where do people recommend? I’ll check out Seasalt, think Toast out of my price range atm!

My sister wears Gap ones with black crop tops or black jumpers underneath, she looks good & very stylish.

I've hopefully got some coming for my birthday Grin. Gap had a 30% sale on I think...

I love mine, they’re from Toast a couple of years ago. I wear them with either a silk shirt, lacy high neck blouse, or fine knit sweaters, or a tee shirt.

I have Run & Fly dungarees. Mine are the skinny soft black ones and really comfortable.

In winter I wear with a close fitting knitted jumper or skinny rib top or polo neck underneath. Mine below in pics.
I've seen the Fatface ones on others and really like them too. I have a baggier pair from gap which are boyfriend style but they work better in the summer with a vest top or short sleeve top underneath.

I've worn them for a few years now - I'm also old enough to not care at all what anyone thinks of what I'm wearing though!

I love them. So comfortable (no waistband!), very practical (all those pockets!), and very versatile too. Most of mine are Lucy & Yak, Run & Fly and also some denim ones from White Stuff.

For anyone wondering about the Lucy & Yak ties by the way, you don't need to undo them - you can just slip the straps off your shoulders.

I've got two pairs, one of which is home made (very similar to lucy and yak). I love them both but I always feel pregnant in them, which is ironic as I've been doing ivf for a while now! I made myself a dungaree style pinafore in a thick cord the other day Grin. Go for it!

thanks for all your replies! To the pp who was told she looked like a farmer...I am a farmer (kind of) but i refuse to wear them on the farm as I don't want them to get dirty haha! :)
