Navy trousers and which shoes??

I'm rubbish at looking at colours/ clothes and seeing what goes, so tend to go safe and stick to black/ beige trousers and shoes, colourful tops, jeans if casual. I can do navy trousers in the summer and have a couple of options, but what colour shoe goes with smart winter navy trousers when wearing a plain white/ cream/ white and navy top?
Thanks fashionistas!

How smart? Do you mean for work?

I tend to wear tan, brown or burgundy. I do have a gorgeous pair of navy flatform brogues although I am not usually a fan of navy shoes.

Work trousers Lucked, not crazy smart, but smart enough.
So navy and navy shoes looks ok? The tan don't look right to me, but then I do see load of men wearing tan with navy suits. I'm sure I have some kind of colour blindness!! I'd never have thought of burgundy though.

Navy can work but lots of navy shoes and boots can look a bit naf and frumpy but it depends on the style.

Nude, burgundy or maroon, tan all fairly standard and look good with navy trousers in my office!

I wear tan brogues with navy but that tends to be in summer, so I would also go burgundy.

I’m a great fan of navy and have usually worn navy shoes with navy trousers. I also like wearing bright colours so I’d sometimes do that + have a patterned blouse.

I wear a lot of navy and charcoal grey work trousers, I don't own any black ones. I've got navy patent brogues which I love, the patent means you don't need to try and get same shade of navy blue as the trousers. Been looking unsuccessfully for Burgundy patent brogues for a few years. I bought dark brown-burgundy chunky soled lace up boots which look great with navy trousers last year. Also have a khaki pair of heels which go well. Red would be good but I'm not brave enough for that!

Red or yellow or nude ones would look lovely.

I always wear navy to work and when ever I wear red or yellow shoes I get more comments about looking nice

Thanks for all the suggestions. I clearly need to be more adventurous with my coloursGrin
I'll try and send a picture of the trousers tomorrow

I wear pale grey suede shoes with my navy work trousers. I tend to wear patterned tops so not sure burgundy would work for me but think it would be fab with plainer tops.

Orange! I have a gorgeous pair of dark orange suede slingbacks that look lovely with navy trousers.

I like the idea of burgundy for the winter - would any of these styles work?

Burgundy brogues are nice.

Trousers not too long at all.

I have those loafers in silver and will be wearing them with navy trousers for my first day in the office for six months today. They also come in navy patent (I have those too Smile)

MadauntofA I think all the ones you suggested would look fine. I might look at the Burgundy brogues myself!

Those pavers brogues are great!

You could get a more wintery silver shoe if you like silver. A lady in my office wears some silver fitflop shoes that look good.

Definitely think about bright colours (red, yellow, orange, or electric blue) Burgundy, tan or nude are all decent alternatives to navy shoes. Avoid black, or brown though.
