Got a fab new funky haircut last Friday and proceeded to raid the make-up counter at Space NK to really cheer me up before winter really sets in for the next 11 and a half months

I now feel foxy and ravishing and rather smugly pleased with myself

As I am kind hearted I thought I'd share:
If you normally cannot do lipstick and are disappointed with lipgloss, this is what you need: Lipstick Queen in Saint Natural
Incredibly comfy, gorgeous colour, you don't know you're wearing it (I never wear lipstick usually!!)

For eyeshadow that lasts, get the Laura Mercier primer (can't find the link)

To finish off lovely eyes, Laura Mercier eye brow powder

Also got some gorgeous eye shadow and an eye brow powder brush.

Actually you do look quite gorgeous...

My latest find is YSL Faux Cils mascara, I feel quite delightful once that's on

sounds a bit scary, is it more of an evening look?

looking good, PFP!

I got the tip about Blinc mascara from another thread here. It goes on a bit clumpy, but once it's on, it's great! (no panda eyes here)

Nope just really effective black - well I think so, who knows about anyone else? dh hasn't made any disparaging remarks though

this eyeliner is fantastic you put it on with a brush into the base of your eyelashes and it doesn't really look like you are wearing eyeliner but opens up your eyes

mmmm, not sure my skills extend to eye liner application....
Only problem with Space NK is that the lovely beautifully made-up lady gave dd a sample of foot massage gel and that she is now addicted to me massaging her feet.....

What sort of brush, CD? I'm dying to get that smokey look under my eyes, keep trying but failing!

I like the new CLinique eye-liner pots. I have 'graphite' and 'rich brown'. They are really easy to apply with the little brush. Worth every penny IMO.

I love love love Space NK because you can try on everything and they don't mind. And they even let my dd try things on (she comes out looking like a slutty, Britney mini-me)

Plus they sell the oh-so-fabulous Diptyque candles.

I know it's been done to death but I have to recommend LilyLoLo mineral make-up. I wouldn't bother with the blusher or the concealer (the blusher was no better than L'Oreal and the concealer lodged in my wrinkles), but the foundation, finishing powder and eye-shadow are great. I wore them for the first time a couple of weeks ago on a business trip. I was ill and felt as sick as a dog but my colleagues kept commenting how radiant I looked which was less than useful at the time but a recommendation for the make-up. You can buy extremely cheap tester pots to get the right foundation colour, but you do need a pricier £12 'Kobuki' (or some such name) brush to apply the powder.

CD will tell you that her skin is too dry for this make-up!

lilylolo eyeshadow is great esp if you are very allergic like me. You can get little sample bags for 29p that last for ages and you can try all the colours as they are so cheap!

Fabby. I'm going to give it a go, thanks CD.

NotanOtter, I'm 40 in 372 days! In fact, I've just told someone I don't have to decide where to go to lunch because I am a Libra and therefore exempt from decision-making. Now he's chosen Japanese, which I hate!
