Good tinted moisturisers?

I'm lucky and have never had to wear foundation/anything on my skin. But not I'm getting older and wrinklier I think I'd benefit from a bit more coverage. I don't want to go the whole hog of foundation so thought I'd try a tinted moisturiser. But although I love makeup this is a totally new area to me so I was going for some recommendations.

Also, do you apply it by hand or with a brush? If a brush I'd love to know what sort!

Tia Thanks

I apply Garnier BB cream with my fingers. It cost me a fiver so I wasn't going to be sad if I didn't like it. It is quite moisturising and stays on all day. I also like Clinique's BB and Estee Lauder Doublewear Light, but they are very pricey. I also like the Korean ones, like Holika Holika BB cream. Cost effective and very good.

Im a Beauty Pie member and I like their bb cream (I need mine to be oil free). Its very like the Laura Mercier ones that are £££ more. Also £££ Nars are good for the winter but a bit 'chalky' for the summer.

I use my fingers to apply as well.

Another recommendation for nars here as well. I use a brush to apply. Squirt the cream onto the brush and apply.

My most recent buy is the By Terry tinted moisturiser. No spf in it but really evens out my skin tone.

I like Marcelle Golden Glow. I got it in a monthly subscription box as a trial and then bought a full size tube. Perfect coverage, perfect colour, lasts for ages. There are loads of the little sample tubes on ebay and I got a lot of use out of my sample so one of those would be worth a try.

I used to use Laura Mercier until they messed the formula up. It's bloody awful now.

I discovered Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue from a recommendation on here and it is now my holy grail. Less is more, and it gives the most wonderful glow. So many shades, plus they seem to actually understand the difference between cool and warm toned skin and offer shades accordingly.

I like bareMinerals tinted moisturiser. When I like to have more coverage I use concealer and powder from the same brand.

Agree with the other posters about Bare Minerals complexion rescue. I have combination skin and set with a little MAC mineralise skinfinish or if you’re less oily probably won’t need a powder. Lots of shades and looks really natural & glowy!

I love Estée Lauder daywear tinted moisturiser. If I need more coverage I use IT Cosmetics CC cream but the EL is usually enough. It goes on white but adapts to your skin tone - so apply it and wait 5 mins before adding blusher etc.

I like both the Nars and the Bare Minerals, the latter pips it just because of a slightly better shade match

Nars tends towards yellow so no good if you're pale like me. Bare Minerals is great.

How does one buy Bare Minerals now? I went around town looking for it the other day, but all the concessions had shut down. There are sooooo many shades that I don’t know where to start.

I’ve tried loads of BB creams/tinted moisturisers over the years.

Nothing works as well as my usual face cream with a blob of my usual foundation in it (and just applied all over with fingers, like face cream).

Bare minerals complexion rescue everytime,I always have at least one spare as I can't be without it! I find it easier to use my fingers to apply and also find, especially in this hot weather, that it helps to shake the tube before dispensing.

I’ve just started using the Nars one, having got interested in tinted moisturiser for the same reasons as you, OP.

A friend who knows about These Things has also just recommended Trinity Woodall BB cream

Report

Sorry the Trinny one is called BFF skin perfector cream.
