I’ve heard dermaplaning gives you fabulous glowing skin. I want fabulous glowing skin.

So, if you’ve tried the DIY version tell me all about it.

I did it when I went on holiday a couple of weeks ago and used the little facial dermaplaning razors. It was a bit blunt and looked like I'd been attacked by a badger (cut my face/neck in about five places).

So I'm a bit more careful now.

It's one of the easier, most effective things you can do for instantly better skin imo.

There are some good YouTube tutorials but the basics are, light, gentle strokes, downward motion and do it before bed so your skin can rest afterwards. Definitely don't do it just as you're about to put your makeup on!

I do it, makes makeup sit better. Never cut myself and certainly hair does not grow back darker/thicker etc.

As @ParadiseLaundry says do it before bed, use a gentle moisturiser after. Definitely no retinol/glycolic or anything harsh for about 2 days after.

I tried this recently too. The amount of peach fuzz that came off the sides of my face was . It defo makes my upper lip make up sit better (I use Mac studio fix powder) now that I don't have a peach fuzz 'tash. I agree with PP, hair doesn't come back dark or thicker.

I'd never cut myself until this one occasion and so I think I'd used the face razor too many times.

Are the cheap eyebrow razors the way to go? I’ve seen some outrageously expensive options too but I’m hoping cheap and cheerful will be fine.

I use the cheap eyebrow razors, definitely need to chuck them after a couple of uses though, I have nicked myself with an older one. I only do it about once a month, mainly for dead dry skin as I don't have much fluff. I put a good layer of moisturiser on first and let it soak in for a minute or so to soften the surface layer, then some more on afterwards, I use Lush Dream Cream as the lavender is soothing.

The softness afterwards is amazing. I had some skin problems earlier in lockdown, I thought I had developed rosacea but I now think it was an allergy to a new washing powder and it's better now. I was getting a flare up followed by really flakey skin, this really sorted it out.

Yep I use the cheapie amazon ones and they're great. I've never nicked myself. As pp said your make up goes on so well afterwards. Occasionally I'll get a few little pimples on my chin afterwards but I'm prone to hormonal acne anyway. It is SO satisfying seeing all the crap that comes off your face!

I use the Shiseido 3 Piece Facial Razors on Amazon for £5.99. Piece of piss to use. Just get the angle right and you’re away. Do it last thing at night and moisturise afterwards.

I want to try home eyelash dye but all the products seem to have very mixed reviews

Ive just bought home eyelash dye - refectocil - be aware you have to buy the dye and the oxidant cream/liquid.

I haven't dyed my eyelashes since the 80s so fingers crossed..

For those with peach fuzz I’d recommend the spring type hair removers if you don’t mind a bit of a sting! Like threading. I have light reflecting off my cheekbones and glowy facial skin generally now, and before I was very shall we say fluffy!

I did this and it increased my facial milia significantly. I've stopped doing it, increased retinol and glycolic toner and just about sorted them..

I'd not recommend.

The springy thing gave me milia on my chin, that was a few years ago, I'd forgotten about that. Not too bad but not great.
