Or would retinol fix this? Horrified after seeing a pic of me in the sunlight today (cropped below) which looks dreadful. Any advice S&B?

I have similar wrinkles.
You are dehydrated. Botox will help too!

PicklePig31 Sun 09-Aug-20 19:32:36

Botox is the only cure.

Retinol may help them look less noticeable but Botox is the only thing to really sort them out.

Bite the bullet!

This is going to sound stupid but... dehydrated like I need to drink more water or need to do something for my skin?

Botox baby!

Thats the only thing that really works.

Other things you could try that will yield more minimal results are:
A strong retinol (this takes months though)
dermarolling (you can buy a derma roller fairly cheaply off amazon)
Chemical peels

Best thing is botox really- and make sure to always use at least 50 spf on your face. Sun is the biggest ager there is

I don’t think your forehead even looks bad!!

huuunderickssss Sun 09-Aug-20 19:39:07

How old are you?

AteAllTheAfterEights Sun 09-Aug-20 19:40:15

A few days drinking 3 litres of water a day makes a massive difference to me! I'm 32, trying to hold off botox but I sense it's coming for me too.

AteAllTheAfterEights Sun 09-Aug-20 19:46:19

So far I’ve got myself a glass of water and ordered a dermaroller... wtf do I do when it arrives?

Urgh all these posters bleating Botox. Just NO! It's a fucking toxin! Water, and the three steps. Acid once a week too. Invest in a Foreo face mask as it works wonders and an LED mask. Please don't go the Botox route as someone out there can always tell and will be laughing.

AteAllTheAfterEights Sun 09-Aug-20 20:34:12

Off to google foreo masks...

@IHeartSusanDey it looks like there are lots of foreo options, any recommendations please?

Drink as much water as you can- stay away from alcohol and put some healthy nourishment in your diet, oily fish 2x a week antioxidants (blueberries etc) seriously step it up and nourish your skin from the inside out. Also slather on moisturiser

ParcelFarce Sun 09-Aug-20 21:33:21

Exactly what @IHeartSusanDey says! Horses for courses and all, but seeing so many women feeling like they have to resort to Botox is depressing as all hell. Where does that road end? Wrinkles are part of life, I’m afraid! However, you can definitely make a difference to your skin by changing your diet/skincare (I also find cod liver oil makes a noticeable difference). Also, SPF50 every day if you don’t already do this, and I know some people rave about facial massage, so that might be worth exploring. Honestly though, your lines aren’t even bad, and you’re 33 not 20 - it’s perfectly normal to have a few!

Jumbogirl Sun 09-Aug-20 21:36:19

What about a different hairstyle/fringe OP?

AteAllTheAfterEights Sun 09-Aug-20 22:05:20

Got such a ball face, I really don’t suit a fringe 🤣

Blimey .. I'm 46 with no wrinkles ,.. I do drink tonnes of water though and I'm vegan / eat clean and don't drink .. I would never have Botox though , it never seems like a good idea to me .. I use retinol at night too .. can you try that?

MissMarks Sun 09-Aug-20 22:59:21

Water water water. 2ltrs a day minimum everyday more if you can.

Redhair23 Sun 09-Aug-20 23:05:03

It’s not that bad at all, it’s zoomed in and most people’s foreheads would look a bit wrinkled at such a close inspection.

HillyJilly Sun 09-Aug-20 23:05:53

Botox is miraculous.

Redhair23 Sun 09-Aug-20 23:06:02

Why do people come on to boast that they have no wrinkles? WTF is wrong with people?

timetest Sun 09-Aug-20 23:07:00

33 seems way too early to start Botox. Tretinoin and spf, a Mediterranean type diet and oily fish a couple of times a week would help.

HillyJilly Sun 09-Aug-20 23:14:51

I started at 29. It is a preventive measure as well as a cure.
