Do you find that manicures are hard on your nails?

I have a manicure now and then - regular, not gel. I do have very sensitive cuticles, and they are prone to bleeding when being trimmed. I find my cuticles are often dry and a bit wrecked after a manicure and need a few days of TLC to recover (nail oil and lots of hand cream). Is this normal? I tend to go to fairly cheap local nail bars rather than anywhere fancier

Try a salon that uses a system, make sure the lamp matches the brand and bonus points if they use IBX nail repair because I think that’s the sign of a tech who really cares and want you to have healthy nails.

Cuticles don't need trimming. They may be pushed back with your permission. They definitely should not bleed. Cuticles are important to prevent infection. Maybe it's time to find a new salon?

Oh no! They should not be cutting your cuticles! You need to find a better salon. A qualified tech in the UK would not be trimming cuticles.

We moved house just before lockdown so this was my first experiment in finding a new salon. I wont be going back there!

I've been to several different salons over the years and they ALWAYS cut cuticles, without asking. Will tell them not to from now on
