thinking of getting a friend a present from here- one of the kimono short jackets-do they come in any packaging/ box type thing please?

Mine was neatly folded inside a cellophane bag in a slim box.

I think it will be fine to send. Do they do gift wrap?
Maybe phone them and say it's a gift and they might make an extra effort.

A robe I bought came beautifully gift wrapped and suitable for direct delivery but am cover up was as PP described in a cellophane bag. It could be the price difference.

I bought a robe and a short jacket. They were delivered on Friday. Each item was wrapped in plastic and they were in a flat brown cardboard box.
