What are the top five most worn items in your wardrobe?

For the last couple of years I've been committed to spending most of my clothes budget on items that get the most everyday wear. Today I was trying to work out which things get worn on an almost daily basis and whether I've been successful in investing my money in the right places.

At the moment (in the middle of Australian winter!) my five most frequently worn items are:

Black cashmere crew neck jumper
Black duck down parka
High waisted slim-fitting blue jeans
Black leather ankle boots
Slouchy black leather tote bag

They aren't necessarily my favourite items or the ones I think are the most stylish, but they're the ones that are getting down to pennies per wear!

What are yours?

Top five include two belts, two pairs of jeans and my Birkenstock sandals. Belts make sense given that they get most of their wear with jeans.

That's the fit and flare ones,
Sad but true. However I have had many for over 15 years. My kids buy my one from each of them for christmas, my birthday and mothers day. My mum usually buys me one for Christmas and my birthday as well. Dh buys as well so they've soon added up.

Judystilldreamsofhorses Mon 29-Jun-20 16:18:32

If we’re talking in general cost per wear items, mine would be:

Black leather mini skirt from Jigsaw
Black Whistles dungarees
Black cashmere M&S polo neck
Black Stan Smith trainers
Long teddy fur coat from Whistles

I tend to spend more on winter items, and the above are all about five years old except the trainers which I tend to replace annually. I’d also have a sixth in there if I could, my DM Church monkey boots.

If we’re talking in lockdown, I am wearing various jeans, t-shirts, trainers, cardigans. A black cardi from Other Stories, and an orange one from Arket feature highly.

Per pp, I never wear them outside, but I wear Ugg type boots every day as slippers.
