I need to keep my skin covered in the sun for medical reasons. This is fairly recent. I wear Spf50 but also need to cover my arms and legs.

My usual 'uniform' is skinny jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt/blouse/jumper. At a push I will wear 3/4 sleeve tops, which cover most of my arms.

However in this heat I am really, really struggling. I cannot wear shorts, or sleeveless tops or t-shirts and I just look so stupid and feel so hot in jeans but I don't know what else to wear.

I am a size 14/16 at the moment having put on a few pounds in lockdown. I am 5ft 4. Has anyone got any ideas for clothes that I can wear to keep my skin covered as much as possible, but also keep me cool? It seems like mission impossible.

Loose linen trousers or maxi skirt on bottom half.

Palazzo pants could be an option as well. Honestly, I think anything would be cooler than skinny jeans!

Thank you. I would love to wear a maxi skirt as it would be so cool, but couldn't find a style of top to go with it which covers my arms and looks ok? In the past I would have worn a vest top or short sleeve t shirt with a maxi skirt.

Linen trousers and blouses, I got some really nice linen trousers in Next a while back.

M&S and monsoon are probably worth a look for cool cotton and linen items that are on sale.

Maybe a maxi dress with sleeves?

You might do well with modest clothing marketed to women in strict orthodox Jewish or Muslim communities.

Mango have lovely drawstring linen trousers at the moment. Wear those with a plain, long sleeve cotton top.

New fashionable jumpsuit/boiler suit?

I'm on a sewing group where a lady with that condition made herself an ankle length, long sleeved, light linen dress almost Victorian style. It was actually beautiful and really cool to wear apparently.

Long cotton Kaftans? Maybe try somewhere like monsoon?

Lots of prairie dresses about, quite often have 3/4 sleeves. Very long, very loose.

What about a vest but with a kimono top over it to cover your arms? E.g. 100 Stars
Still quite cool as floaty fabric. Not sure about SPF though. And do you need high neck too?

Could you wear a sleeveless maxi dress with a floaty kimono jacket over the top ?
