I know Monsoon gets a lot of flak (usually justifiably) for frumpiness and polyester.

I’ve found a couple of non frumpy natural fabric gems there over the last couple of years.

Is this one of them or is lockdown sending me loopy??!

Love the colour, the organic cotton, the length.

Is the frill a bit blah?

Am I sensible to order if monsoon are about to go under (huge pity if so, awful for staff) ?

Will there be massive sales in a few weeks when retailers are getting desperate to lure us in?

I NEED lightweight summer dresses and am going round in circles.

I like this one. But is it just me?

(I’m 43, 5 foot 8, size 10/12)

I love it. I'm same height as you and a dress size larger. I would buy it in a heartbeat (not much disposable income at the mo!)
Wear with flat sandals or espadrilles. Or trainers maybe. Consider a red lipstick for when the pubs open again!

It’s really lovely.

Monsoon have had lots of promotions in recently so not sure why that’s not in the sale.

Thanks everyone!

Yep would wear with my trainers or my flat black sandals. I have a huge bright orange bag that might look good in sort of weird high-summer colour-blocking massive deliberate clash mind of way...?!

I don’t have a lot of disposable cash at mo so it would pretty much be my ONE new summer dress (as opposed to two cheaper).

It’s probably why I’m hesitating: do I love it ENOUGH?!? Grin

I really like it. I'm considerably shorter than you, so the length would be all wrong on me 🙈

I would totally encourage you to buy it!

I love it! I'm breastfeeding so it wouldn't work for me or I'd be getting it myself. I love Monsoon though!

Universal positivity! Thanks everyone!

I’m just wondering about sale... if it was 30-40% off I’d buy it in a heartbeat! Not that it’s not worth £55 to me, I think it’s a decent price for cotton, it’s more that I’ll be irritated if it’s down to £40 or less in a couple of weeks!

Mind you I’ll be equally irritated if it sells out in my size!

Bullet bitten! I’ve ordered it!

Fingers crossed I like it and that they don’t go bust Confused any day now!

I will miss them if they do, yes there are a lot of polyester patchwork shockers that aren’t my thing but I have two dresses from there that I’ve worn and worn over the last couple of years, good quality linen and simple style.

I think it’s lovely but Tesco currently have a similar one for £29. It can be worn on or off the shoulder and has a tie belt where the shirred bit on this one. But the monsoon one is lovely, I have their Roxie green floral dress which Is similar style and I love it.
