Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads sadsadsad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

I’m a regular lurker and hope it continues...

LadyEloise Sun 31-May-20 11:38:56

Perhaps someone has already started a new thread ?

Ah, no, I love these threads and Queen of the Andals' contributions are some of my favourites sad. Please keep it going, ladies. (Returns to lurk mode.)

Chewbecca Sun 31-May-20 11:54:39

I had looked already actually, in case I missed it!

frugalkitty Sun 31-May-20 17:38:59

I had a nose yesterday but the thread was full and Queen has already closed her account as I tried to pm her to say thank you and wish her well. So, Queen, if you see this, I thank you for the threads and hope to see you back here one day flowers

LadyEloise Sun 31-May-20 18:27:41

frugalkitty I was going to private message her too but she did say she was closing her Mumsnet account.
I too hope she has a change of heart.

I wanted to say thank you and wish QueenoftheAndals well too, but it had reached 1000 posts before I saw her decision.
Hopefully, she'll have a quiet lurk every now and again. I'd love it if we could continue.

mongoosebaby Sun 31-May-20 20:24:49

Oh no- I'm a proper lurker on these threads, please someone keep them going!

waltzingparrot Sun 31-May-20 20:44:14

Also a long lurker who would like to thank QueenoftheAndals for these wonderful threads and hope you feel you can come back soon. I dread to think how many happy hours I've spent on these threads alone. Hope they keep going; I've learnt so much.

frugalkitty Sun 31-May-20 20:51:13

Well, I suggest we carry on the chat on this thread (good title) and take it from there. Not that there's much royal style to discuss at the moment!

latedecember1963 Sun 31-May-20 20:56:09

That sounds perfect, Frugalkitty.

KensalGreen Sun 31-May-20 20:56:14

Thanks for starting the thread! Can we just continue from here? I don’t think it needs to fall on a specific person to start each one so there shouldn’t be any pressure in that regard. I’ve loved these threads over the past couple of years smile

100% this.
How dare you miss me out @LadyEloise 😂

Disfordarkchocolate Sun 31-May-20 21:07:49

Oh no. Did I miss something. I've been trying to fill my days a bit more productively but this is my favourite thread.

frugalkitty Sun 31-May-20 21:10:29

I'll start the frocks with this pic that's just popped up on my Pinterest feed. It's a close up of Gabriella Windsor's wedding dress and is just lovely, I hadn't seen such a good close up of it before.

thisenglishlife Sun 31-May-20 21:11:10

We are coming to the end of our thread again. However, I won't be starting a new one. I am spending far too much time on Mumsnet these days and have decided to seriously cut down on my use of social media. Twitter was the first to go, then Reddit and now I'm going to ask MN to delete my account on here too.

I've really enjoyed chatting royal fashion for the past couple of years with all of you but I've realised I've got quite the social media addiction and really need to rein it in.

LadyEloise Sun 31-May-20 21:14:17

thisenglishlife, frugalkitty and many, many others forgive me for not mentioning you specifically, I was trying to write the first post and check back for names on old threads.
For a Luddite like me that was some achievement. smile

I too missed saying** goodbye and thanks to QueenoftheAndals as the thread had reached 1000.

I checked earlier to see if anyone had started a thread so glad there is one now, I was a lurker but didn't realise how much I would miss it!
I saw reports the Cambridge's were going to sue Taylor for the awful article but not sure how true it was and can't seem to find anything now.

Rhubarbisevil Sun 31-May-20 21:16:07

Thank you for everything that you’ve done Queen. We’ll miss you.

Poor Bea. Is anyone watching Fergie and Friends on YouTube at 4pm?

LadyEloise Sun 31-May-20 21:17:51

Oops meant to bold QueenoftheAndals not the rest of the sentence.blush
Now do you believe me I'm a Luddite. grin

It was a lovely dress by a Sicilian atelier with a 20ft tulle veil. Gabriela looked wonderful, but she is 5'11" and slim, so any dress would have looked good.

The designer also made three other dresses for the wedding - reception, post reception and next day brunch.

RomaineCalm Sun 31-May-20 21:32:11

I'm an occasional poster on theses threads and will be very sorry to see Queen go too. Hope that we can keep this thread going as it's a welcome relief from everything else that's going on.

thisenglishlife you're right, being tall and slim makes anything look good (mostly). Her dress was so pretty.
