Recommendations for dog walking boots

What do you wear on your feet for walking the dog? I'm in need of some boots/ankle boots that are waterproof and will cope with walking in fields and mud during the winter. Thank you in advance.

I wear wellies, with some thick socks. I have a pair from Hunter that have lasted several years now

I alternate between wellies (Hunter last me a while) and Brasher walking boots that are absolutely brilliant. I walk everyday, two to three dog walks a day, mixed terrain in all weathers and the Brashers have stood up really well. I clean them and wax them every few weeks in winter they have been worth every penny.
