Just ordering myself a box from this outfit:

loststock.co/

No idea when it will arrive but I thought it looked good, ordered one for DH too (in "dark" and "plain", he's a boring sod).

Did your box arrive op? Just wondering what you thought of the contents?

Not yet! Impatiently waiting.

I would really like to support this. Can’t help but feel they have pitched the box £10-15 too high.

I know what you mean @PersonaNonGarter I like the idea on of supporting but it's a risk to.end up with a bunch of stuff that might never get worn + and that's not good for the environment (or my purse!)

I’ve ordered one too, I will take a risk to support a family & hopefully I will like the contents.

What a fantastic idea. The workers get paid, the factories get paid and you get clothes .
Absolutely love this concept.
Have ordered one and will buy my friend a gift card.

With things like this it is volume of sales that you need, so you get word of mouth. Unfortunately it is priced too high for high turnover. There should have been options for lower cost (1item)

People wanting clothes to be cheaper and cheaper is what got us into this mess in the first place.

As for being bad for the environment if you don't like the clothes you're sent, where do you think they'll end up if no one buys them?

At the end of the day it's a charity donation, if you can afford £38.99 for a donation great, if not then don't.

I ordered my box 2-3 weeks ago too, it said 4-6 weeks so hopefully not too long to wait!

I had a look and it said you will receive a minimum of three items

I understand it’s a charity thing too but it didn’t seem a great deal if you end up getting three basic items

I had visions of getting three plain t shirts , also they state the brands labels would be removed so not even any idea of brand to assess value for money

So we could pay the money and end up with three Primark Type tops ...

Nice idea but too expensive for a punt

And I couldn’t afford a £39 charity donation so it’s a no from me

Will be interesting to see what people receive

I ordered a couple of weeks ago for DD who is 15. She paid some of it but we're treating it as a charity donation and anything we get as a bonus. She sells on Depop so anything she doesn't like will go on there. I agree it's fairly pricey but they have to cover costs and have enough to donate.

I have ordered one, I can afford the donation and if I don't like the tops or they don't fit I'll probably give them to someone who does like them. I think it's a good idea and I'll be interested to see what comes.

WowStarsWow · 06/06/2020 11:11

Loadsablusher they claim the box is worth £70 at full retail price. It's meant to be Topshop type items not primark but who knows.

LoadsaBlusher · 06/06/2020 12:11

Yes I saw that but just a wee bit too dear in case I get not so good stuff

As others have said if it was around £20 I would probably go for it ...

If PP come back on here to say it’s fabulous then I’ll rethink

Just worked out it's only been 3 weeks. Even more impatient now!

I ordered one 3 weeks ago too. Figured I'll donate it to charity if it doesn't work. And went for the safe plain, neutral option!

I ordered one and went for patterned brights. I am hoping for something I wouldnt normally choose but turn out to love...

I love this idea, but I can’t afford to spend £40 on clothes I might not like, so I’m going to have to live vicariously through this thread. I hope everyone posts pictures when their stuff arrives!

Report
PersonaNonGarter · 07/06/2020 18:49

The problem is while you may be able to spend £40 on a donation, there was no option to spend less and get less.

These things work best by word of mouth and the fewer people that can buy, the fewer people will tell others.

I hope you get nice stuff though.

I’ve just ordered one after reading this thread. I’d never heard of Lost Stock, but think it’s a great idea. I’m also looking at this more as a charity donation, if the clothes are good, then that’s just a bonus, but excited to see them!

Alwaysthesun · 07/06/2020 21:41

I've ordered one, but am viewing it as a donation. To be honest I don't need any clothes and don't expect to like what I get - but if I do it's a bonus.

Ooh intriguing. I hadn't heard of this before, what a good concept.

I thought of it as: well I would spend £35 on a top readily enough, so if I get something I like then great, if not I'll donate to a charity shop and it's a double benefit. Also planning a swap party (if we can) with local friends as a group of us have bought them. I don't need any new clothes, but as a high street shopper I'm part of the problem here so should really step up for this one.

Would everyone who receives them be so kind as to post a photo of each item please?
