Well, I finally plucked up the courage to dye my hair at home...

...and I think it’s come out well! I got DH to do it, using a colour from e:salon.

£14, and I usually pay £90 for a cut and colour. I cut my own fringe for zilch.

I really, really recommend it.

I've been dyeing my own hair for 20 years. Never had any issues.

The blonde was nice but the darker makes you look younger.

Thanks all! The blonde was a result of red washing out over lockdown...I was down to the bleach and had awful roots.

I was worried that red would go glowy at the roots, but it hasn’t. I’d definitely do it again!

I am letting the grey come through (well, have no choice really)

I have blonde highlighted mousy hair which is damaged on the ends which really needs a cut so daren't do a home dye job as I reckon it would take very patchily

If I had proper grey I might have done the same, but my natural colour is just weird. I used to be a redhead, and as I’ve aged it’s gone a kind of dirty khaki colour.

Nobody needs to see that.

Khaki hair Confused

Honestly, even my hairdresser described it as such. It’s just...weirdly greeny browny blonde.
