My Botox is running out!

Anyone else rather alarmed that their face is starting to move again? Its been 4 months now and I'm wondering when cosmetic procedures will be allowed again? anyone else wondering this?

Caveat: Yes, I KNOW people are dying. I am a key worker so am fully aware. This is a lighthearted musing, not a serious post about how botox is more important than people's lives before anyone attacks me.

I am so bothered by this - I know I shouldn’t and it’s all relative. I have a massively deep forehead crease and have been having it botoxed for around a year. Now it’s coming back I look soooo cross all the time which is making me cross! I would get a fringe cut in but obviously can’t - unless I have a go myself ... plus I started having Botox because I really believe it stopped my headaches which have crept back in ....and don’t even mention the horrors of seeing myself on zoom ...

I’m so glad you posted this op. And yes it is fickle and blah blah etc.
I’ve had really deep frown lines since my teens , fast forward kids and endless sleep deprivation and the frown lines had become so bad that the muscles behind them had actually started to push one of my eyebrows lower down. It actually made me so , so self conscious and I ended up wearing a fringe all the time and hiding my face. I also got really bad headaches. I was terrified of getting Botox as I’m very health conscious. One day someone guessed me to be in my 40’s , I’m early 30’s because I was so wrinkled.
Botox on my frown lines changed my face , literally. It stopped all my headaches too. I looked normal again and happier.
Sorry for the essay but it’s totally worn off, I had a zoom thing the last day and 3 of my family said i looked exhausted, stressed and cross. I absolutely hate frown lines. I had only had two sessions of Botox and was so happy with the results and now I have no idea when it’ll resume and everyone who has a wrinkly forehead will know .... sunshine is not your friend..

I have never had to go this long without getting it so its a bit of a shock. Its surprising how a such a small thing can make such a difference to your face and your confidence etc

Ive tried googling how long it will take before cosmetic procedures will be allowed again but am getting conflicting reports- some say June others say September screams

Zoom? haha, isnt it awful that in Zoom meetings, most of us spend our time looking at ourselves and evaluating our appearance rather than looking at the other people in the meeting?

Botox is "safer" than fillers. Botox has been used for years to help disabled children with limb spasticity at far higher doses than would be used for face so yes, its fairly well researched and safe I would say.

Always research a practitioner well- see their before and afters and look at their reviews. Lots of reviews on the website real self which lists specific doctors etc..

At least one upside of all the weight I’ve put on is that my face wrinkles have puffed out a bit.

I have Botox for medical reasons so I would second that’s it’s highly researched and regularly prescribed by consultants for medical needs - which if I was getting it done cosmetically, would reassure me

39, and it took 10 years off straight away. I had deep 11 lines and hadn’t realise my eyebrows had dropped. I have the eyebrow lift and that in itself is the biggest age reducer, it’s amazing.

I was 30 when I started getting and have had it regularly ever sine (10 years) without ever letting it wear off. Ots starting to wear off now though...

However, I'm actually quite intrigued about what my face will look like once it's completely worn off! I'm kind of hoping my 'real' face might not be too bad if the wrinkles have been prevented all these years by the botox?!

I usually do it twice a year - last was Feb so am ok for either June or Autumn .

Botox is amazing but mine wore off just before lockdown so I've been using Facial Smoothies wrinkle patches and am really impressed with them. I've used Frownies in the past but these are much better as they're smaller, clear and self-adhesive. They're also a lot cheaper and can be re-used. They stop me frowning in my sleep and make me more self-aware of my facial expressions throughout the day. I've noticed that my frown line is drastically reduced overall. I'm not saying they're as good as Botox but, for the money, they're great and a good solution to tide us over until we can have Botox again! Though I think I might continue using these.
