What's the best fake tan for very white legs?

I'd love to go bare legged but my skin is white as paper. Whenever I try fake tan, it is always orange and streaky. Can anyone recommend a fool proof one to build up a natural colour?
I do the usual shave, exfoliate and moisturise the night before then apply the fake tan in the morning but have never had a result I can actually go public with.

I am hopeless at this stuff. I ran easily but spend all my outside time in jodphurs so have very brown arms/face and white legs.

I use San Tropez mouse, with a proper mitt. Apply at night, sleep on it, be horrified at how it looks in the morning.......then wash it off and you've got nice streak free legs.

I usually use the Johnson's gradual tan moisturising stuff but I know lots of people don't get on with it.

Rock the white, why be ashamed of how you look naturally?

Clarins drops that you put in your own moisturizer. For white legs needing something straight away, Sally Hansen.

I just use Sally Hansen whenever my legs are out. I’ve never managed to fake tan my legs!

Skinny tan with a mitt, sleep in it overnight and wash off in the morning. I'm ghostly white and that gives me a glow. Always moisturise knees and any dry skin first though.

Tan Luxe from Space Nk, both the face and the body ones are brilliant.

Do you shower in the morning? If you apply tan over moisturised legs it might go streaky.
Bondi Sands everyday gradual tanning milk is good. Takes about 3 applications to build a nice light natural tan.

St moritz , tan the night before, wash it off and off you go. Remember to moisturise knees, wrists, hands, feet and dry areas before hand and also shave the morning of the day you are going to apply.

Like pp's I find the gradual tans work best for me to avoid the dreaded streaks.

I use a St Tropaz one atm but have used Garnier/Johnsons before with no issues.

That said it probably because I'm too goddamn lazy to exfoliate and apply other tanning products properly.

Upshot is gradual tans take longer (obviously) but they are a lot more forgiving wrt application.

The downside is you use more product to get the same effect and have to continually keep topping it up by applying every few days, so they work out more expensive in the long run.

I would change round your routine. Shower in the morning and exfoliate and shave..very light moisturiser on knees and ankles and any dry patches.. then that evening is the time to fake tan, Bondi sands gradual every day mousse in a pink bottle is so easy to use- always use a mitt for body and use a bronzing brush to apply a v small amount to face, feet and hands, it helps with a natural finish. Then loose pyjamas and theres no need to shower it off in the morning because it doesnt smell, but if you do shower then pat dry very gently with a towel, dont rub. Every other tanner I've used apart from that one has streaked on me. Apart from the st tropez in shower one but that can be a faff!

Rose and caramel ... I use nudity and intensity on my legs coz They're that white! Always looks really natural and no streaks ... for my arms face and chest I use nudity stomach and back - intensity as I prefer the areas that aren't public to be darker. I use both at the same time and it's the best my tan has ever looked. Also use the prep spray on dry areas.

There's a St Tropez mousse that you put on wet legs and leave for 3 mins. You have to stand there in the shower getting chilly but then you just wash it off and carry on with your shower. That's worked for me before just to give a subtle glow.

Skinny Tan is the best tan I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried plenty!

Skinny tan is fab. As others said, apply with mitt in the evening, sleep with it on overnight and wash off in the morning.

I find fake tan a faff and you need to plan, when the British weather is so unpredictable (assuming you are UK). I also use Sally Hansen, airbrush legs, seems foolproof and gives a natural look in seconds
