Le Chameau wellies?

My Hunters are shot and I have not been very happy with how this last pair have held up, so am looking to change brands. Have heard great things about both of these brands. Any recommendations? Do they run true to size? I need something comfortable enough for mucky walking but would also like something not ugly. What are the differences between the Vierzon and Giverny?

Sorry, also meant to ask about Agile! Hence ‘both of these brands’. Thoughts on which is a better bet?

I also gave up on Hunters, apparently manufacturing switched to China and quality dropped. Mine lasted a year. I then got through two pairs of Joules wellies the next year.

I've now got Aigle neoprene lined ones. Most expensive footwear I've ever bought but worth every penny!

Yes they run true to size. I was initially told to size up but that was the ring advice.

Hunters made my feet freeze. I bought myself some Aigle neoprene lines boots and they are fab. Had them for 3 years and worn them for mucking out every day. They are very comfortable- can even walk miles in them on a muddy day.

I have aigle neoprenes. First pair lasted 10 years heavy use, v expensive but ‘cost per wear’ excellent. They are warm and comfortable. New pair last year, they are great too. DH sticks with le chameaux but aigle fit me better. Both are good - try and see what fits. I don’t think anyone wears hunters for ‘real’ country stuff anymore.

I was recommended Barbour wellies instead of Hunter. I love them. Very comfortable.

Sorry, I see you we're asking about a couple of specific brands! Ignore my last message!

Yes I have hated how cold the Hunters are! And they leak! Completely unfit for purpose.

Presumably the neoprene lining is the key here? Is the jersey lining very cold?

I have Aigle neoprenes and they are the best wellies ever. Comfy, warm and on their 3rd year of almost daily wear and still going strong.
If you aren't too fussy on colours and can keep an eye on Amazon I have them in brown and only paid £70.
DH has Le Chameau but I preferred the fit of the Aigles.

Le Chameau has recently been on sale in a website called Brand Alley.

I switched from Hunters (that were leaking) to Vierzon (new eBay bargain). Very very happy, they are comfy and warm but only done one winter so early days for me to comment on longevity!

I have Aigle and I like them. The Le Chameau ones always look good. I just don’t need any at the moment. DH has Barbour wellies and we’ve both got old Hunters. They are not as good as the other brands. Look at sale options on google. Country Attire might have them.

I've got le chameau giverney Jersey lined.
I love them partly due to the fitted shape.(more flattering)
I would have got neoprene lined if I could have afforded to.

I’ve always been a Chameau girl but needed a new pair this winter. I bought the same size and style of Chameau as normal and went straight out in them. They were excruciating and rubbed two enormous blisters on my heels. Took them back and tried on a pair of Aigles, they’re so much more soft and padded underfoot! Walked miles in them straight out of the box. Since converted a couple of other people who previously only wore Chameaus too!

I have Aigle parcours vario because I have massive calves. They are into there 5th year and the soles are starting to wear down because of the miles they've done.
I didn't go for neoprene because I run hot anyway.
They are the best wellies ever, have proper walking boot soles so give great support.
I luckily got them cheap on Amazon (£70ish) as they were listed as bronze which sounds horrific but they turned out to be a nice proper welly green.
Will definitely be getting more when I wear all the tread of the soles, should be another 3 years in them yet.
Since lockdown I've worn either wellies or slippers the whole time and my feet have never been happier

I have the Aigle neoprene lined, I do find them a little on the heavy side, but they're comfy on the whole and well made. I tried on le chameau but the Aigle were a better fit on my calves. It hurt to spend so much on wellies but I do wear them a lot and I'm hoping they'll last years.

I was given some Le Chameau Vierezon style wellies recently (in the correct size) and really don’t like them. They don’t feel great on, I wouldn’t like to walk far in them.
I usually wear neoprene lined boots such as Muck Boots/ Mudrucker etc, they’re much nicer to wear. So, go for neoprene if at all possible. My arctic Muck Boots are 5+ years old and are as good as the day I bought them, as warm as toast too.

I've got Decathlon Solognac ones and I really can't think of a single complaint about them.

Vierzonord are the super warm ones.... They last well (very heavy use, daily wear 8 hours a day) although in recent years the longevity has gone down. 1st pair did 15 years (2 owners lol) 2nd pair did 10, 3rd and current pair are currently at 4 years.

Can't comment on aigle as haven't used them. Whatever you do don't be tempted by muck boots, super comfy and super warm but quality has gone completely down the pan and they'll now take less than 1 winter to die!

I have the Le chameau V. They are now 18 months old. I work and pretty much live in boots and I would easily say these are the best I've had. Given a clean they still look like new.

All boots rub me when they are new but once last that stage they are v comfortable

I am on 2nd pair of Aigles for dog walking - DDog is 9. DH has Le Chameau and likes them; Aigles are a good supportive fit for me, size 5 , fairly narrow feet.
As pp has said, you can find a bargain on Amazon.i have the Parcours.
