Where do you shop if size 22 and apple shaped?

I'm struggling to find nice clothes for work that look smart and are well fitted. I'm 5'5" and apple shaped. I carry my weight on my boobs & tummy. Black drains me but I like bright, spring, paintbox colours. Where do you shop if you are this size & shape? I'm 47 so want to avoid short dresses etc!

Principles have had some really nice tops and dresses on the debenhams site. I'm a 24-26 and had a few lovely pieces recently.

Thanks both. Yes I've had a nice Seasalt dress via ebay for half the price and it's new. And yes, I hadn't thought of Debenhams- I do like their colourful Mataray stuff but had forgotten about Principles. I will look Thanks.

Sainsbury's usually have a good range too.

I'm similar age and shape/size and I shop at M and S, ASOS, H and M. Also TKMAXX are worth keeping an eye on.

John Lewis, M&S, and Boden all have classic separates.

ASOS, they have a great plus size and curve section!

Have a look at Studio 8, the plus size section of Phase 8

Sahara has some lovely fabrics, but they are pricey. You might find something in the sales, though.

The problem is that even shops that do go further than a 16 often only do big sizes online. I am 5ft 4 and an 18/20 with large bust and large (no) mum tum. I got some nice dresses from ASOS. I admit the website is hit and miss - the Curve stuff is mostly for people proud to show off meaty things and butts, and have high nicklines too. But I managed to get normal looking dresses! I used to get stuff from Evans but now it is no longer in Westfield (it is in Debenhams though) but I preferred to shop in Marble Arch. I like Debenhams. John Lewis for some stuff but have an aversion to Viscose/Tencel/Lyocell which makes me very sweaty (yes more than polyester!) and these bloody materials are everywhere!!!

I do like Cos but they do not go up to your size unfortunately.

Hi op I’m a size 20 and I’ve recently got lots of new clothes from ASOS, SHEIN and BOOHOO in their plus size ranges. Some of the items I’ve ordered in a size 22 and have bought some clothes I wouldn’t normally as am fed up of always wearing black.

I assumed they wouldn’t have anything for me but I was wrong. I’m 42 and 5ft 5 and am apple.

Oh yes I did get something from BooHoo plus (via ASOS). It was a black and white dress that I wore to my Aunt's funeral but will wear anywhere really.

I have been put off by Shein as some people say that the measurements are small (? from China?)

I'm 5' 3 and a 22. Seasalt, Boden and M&S is where pretty much all my stuff comes from, paired with tights from Snag.

Great suggestions everyone. I assumed ASOS would be for much younger women but not necessarily so! Thank you, I will have a look.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel ( and everyone else), have you seen the Snag thread?
They are in trouble due to Covid, and are desperately trying to keep the business afloat. They are offering 2for1 deals, and maybe if you would normally buy in Autumn, you could buy ahead now to keep them going over the summer?
I know not everyone can do that but it would be a shame to see them go out of business.

Depends on what you like style wise, I like a lot of Masai things as they are floaty and or skimming of belly and Box2 have some nice things too.

@DelphiniumBlue - yes, I had an email from Snag earlier today and already bought x5 2-4-1 vouchers... Hoping they survive this, don't know where else I'd find nice tights that fit!
