Dupe for Paula’s Choice BHA?

This has made my skin amazing - got rid of all the bumps on my forehead and controlled my oily skin. Just find it a bit expensive at £30 a pop and it doesn’t last more than a month! Any cheaper, just as good, recommendations please? It’s my holy grail!

Garnier Organic Thyme Perfecting Toner is brilliant and £4 from Amazon.

This is my holy grail product too, I've tried nip &fab etc but they're just not as good. But I get about 4 months out of one bottle so consider it good value.
I found after using it for a while I only need to use a few drops 2-3 times per week. I alternate it with the ordinary glycolic toner (about £7 for a big bottle) so get the benefits of the different acid - might be worth a try?
Or Paula's choice rotate which products they have on %off, think it's suncream at the moment but the BHA does come up.

Nip fab do have a 2%BHA which would be equivalent, Think it's about £13ish on Amazon, my skin just doesn't like it as much.

The Inkey List or Ordinary?

Not sure if it's a dupe as I don't use salicylic acid, it just breaks me out so if I overuse it. Jealous that it works for so many (though happy for you obviously!! grin)

The Ordinary and Facetheory both do BHA salycyclic acid toners that come in cheaper though I think, and Nip and Fab. Superdrug's own skincare is worth a look as they seem to dupe everything under the sun.

How do you get through a bottle in a month? I get 3 months easily. Could you use less so it lasts longer?

Deux Sun 26-Apr-20 11:05:37

I use it daily but just in the am and a bottle lasts me at least 3 months.

Are you applying with cotton wool? I don’t use cotton wool as you end up wasting so much. I tip a few drops into my hand and then kind of spread it in my skin with my fingers of the other hand iyswim.

Great tip with not using cotton wool. That might be the trick. Perhaps I’ll buy a cheaper toner like the Garnier one mentioned above for daily use and then the Paula’s Choice one for every couple of days to try and stretch it out!

Paula's Choice also does a lotion and a gel BHA, which might go further. I find her products last me months and months.

I havent been able to find a good dupe. I use it on cotton pads and it lasts about 2 months. I use it on bikini line after a wax as well though, so not surprised!

Me too. And with some other products where the instructions are to use cotton wool/pads.

Elllllle Sun 26-Apr-20 14:26:27

I've tried using fingers and it's really not as effective as a cotton pad - it's very difficult to apply the product evenly like this.

Deux Sun 26-Apr-20 14:47:20

@Feeding, me too. It was a bit of a revelation. In fact thinking about it I rarely use cotton pads at all now.

Peonyonpoint Sun 26-Apr-20 16:27:39

Came on to say def don't use cotton wool! I use Bioderma sebum micellaire which leaves skin very clean, then just pat the bha toner on - only need a few drops, the bottle lasts me a year!

Peonyonpoint Sun 26-Apr-20 16:28:31

That's funny Ellllle, I find I get more product on the skin without cotton wool. The cw just eats the product for me!

I use the PC BHA in the gel formula, been using the travel sized one every night for over a month now, one pump is plenty smile
