Where on Earth am I going to get a decent outfit for a funeral?

My grandad died two weeks ago and Ive nothing smart to wear.
I'm around a size 14 but live in leggings and tracksuit bottoms, I've not dressed up in several years, I've tried on everything I have, no chance Sad

I won't be there more than 10 minutes due to current situations but I want to look decent any suggestions for a cheapish but smart black dress, trousers etc??

Can someone lend you something?

Can you get to Tesco or Asda?

Tesco. If there’s a Tesco Extra near you they will have something suitable.

I’m sorry for your loss, but have you had confirmation that grandchildren can attend the funeral?

A colleague’s GM passed recently & it was strictly 6 mourners only. Which only covered children & spouses.

I'm sorry about your grandad. Flowers

Ask if any of your local friends could lend you something? You could collect from their doorstep and drop off without any contact

Depending when the funeral is, Next are still doing online sales.

I got marks and sparks delivered the next day! You should be able to get some black trousers and top from there

Tu clothing from Sainsbury's is worth a look, they are still doing delivery or collection from store. They do lots of work wear and it's not bad, I would think you'd find some black clothes there for not too much, OP.

Thanks everyone. 10 mourners apparently which does include me. Was just hoping to try something on as clothes no longer look as I used to imagine once they are on if that makes sense?
No returns at the minute either at least not quick ones

Next are back inline doing deliveries but you need to be inline in the morning as it's restricted. They're delivering within a day or two. ASOS is too.
Returns are by the post office Iirr.

How much time do you have? I usually recommend Uniqlo, but their deliveries seem very slow at the moment. Their ultra stretch/ezy trousers are very forgiving but look smart. With a tunic style blouse or a jersey blazer.

Sainsbury's are 100 day returns at present.

Definitely agree you should look in one of the big supermarkets so you can actually see the clothes rather than rely on a website.

As pp said, online deliveries are often taking ages - had to order some shoes from JD sports as DS in pain from his old ones following a growth spurt and they took 2 1/2 weeks to arrive.

Big Sainsbury, Asda and Tesco s will all have suitable outfits for you.

I have a week, think I'll have to head to Asda/Tesco. Anyone know if the fitting rooms are open?!?
