Linen blend t-shirts- why so hard?

I'm looking, again, for soft linen blend t-shirts. This seems to be my yearly holy trail! The problem is I am comparing my search to three M&S tops I bought around 8 years ago. These were linen/polyester blend, so soft not stiff like some linen can be, boxy in style. Perfect! Since then I found similar style from La Redoute but the material washes poorly, and ditto from H&M. Can anyone recommend any they have bought recently? I so wish M&S would do these tops again!!

I bought some really nice ones from Free People last summer. Very soft, washed linen.

You need to pay a bit more, sadly. With a few rare exceptions, the quality of lower high street linen has got worse and worse over the past few years. You’re better off paying more for good quality linen that will last forever and feel nice to wear. Pay the highest price you can afford and you are likely to get better fabrics. Whistles, Toast, Reiss, White Company, et al. Plus some of the sustainable or eco companies. Yes it’s more expensive but it will work out cheaper in the long run.

On the other hand, I agree you can find bargains that are comparatively good quality for the price at supermarkets. But M&S/other mid range shops seem to be the worst for linen quality, considering what you pay for it.

I've just bought three by Poetry from an ebay seller.

I suspect you are right Ninkanink - I am possibly being unrealistic price wise. I am clinging to the M&S dream Grin
I did try the H&M ones, but last year's version didn't wash well at all. Will take a look at everyone's suggestions, if I find a contender, I will share!

And also it seems it's a popular search, there's one on the M&S site atm, striped and relaxed fit...sold out in all but one size!!! Come on, why only one on the whole site??

I came on to say Whistles too. I've just ordered a linen tee in the sale for £19, plenty of other t shirts on the sale and 25% off new season stuff too on their website.

Thank you everyone, think my favourites so far are Mango and Whistles..so may order a few and go from there. Anybody have any idea on Mango sizing? I'm a 14 mostly, but do like things roomy.

@hells I’d size up in Mango unless you are ordering from their ‘curvy’ collection (whatever it’s called).

Jigsaw have got 25% off their linen atm Here
