What do you wear on bottom half during nice weather?

Shorts don’t really suit me & too hot in jeans. What do you wear in warm weather whilst stuck at home? I have lots of nice tops but nothing to wear them with.

Cropped linen trousers or knee length shorts.

During lockdown in your own garden you might as well wear shorts as only your family will see you!

Skirts maybe?

Denim skirt, cropped jeans or a dress.

Lululemon make relaxed fit pants in really light material. They’re expensive but last for years. “Dance studio crop” are really comfortable and good for weather up into the high twenties Celsius.

Skirt?

I wear dresses in the summer usually, sometimes skirts and I wear shorts underneath both because I am worried about the wind blowing them up (don't think it's ever happened but I feel safer!) I sometimes wear those linen kind of trousers but they make me look very chunky thighed and I'm not.

My main summer issue is footwear. I have horrible feet. They cut easily and I heal slowly so there's usually at least one blister or blister scar. I can't wear any shoes that aren't comfortable because my feet get cut up even more. I also have an old toe injury on one foot and every year the big toenail turns black and falls off and arthritis in the other foot and it looks a bit weird. So sandals really don't do me any favours!

I'm going to enjoy digging out my shorts and sun dresses to wear whilst having to stay at home!

I struggle with bottom half clothes in the summer because I have terrible varicose veins and don't want to get my legs out in public! Cropped jeans and linen trousers are usually my only option when it's warm.

I wear tube maxi skirts, they are stretchy and clingy right down to the ankles usually with a slit up the side to the knee...I love them with tshirts or any nice top. I usually wear them in black, marl grey or khaki green and they get so many compliments... They're only about a tenner!!

Skirts - 'floaty' type of things, not tight or short. Usually with vest tops.

Or shorts - not tight ones - because I don't really care what I look like at home vs comfort.

I’m currently sitting here in shorts. No underwear, just shorts and tee-shirt. Maybe not the best demonstration of summer wear. 🤪

Have you looked at those cut off jean style shorts that hit just above the knee? They look super nice.
Or maybe a skirt? Long and floaty or short and cute.
I like dresses. Thin cotton, wrap around style or tee-shirt fabric.

There are plenty of options, look at Cotton Traders for inspiration. There’s a French brand called something like Redouted, I’m hoping someone will correct me in the spelling, they have a few ideas, not necessarily what to buy, but inspiration for what to wear.

I'm the opposite - really struggle with tops!

Today I'm wearing a leopard print midi skirt with a black vest top.

I don't like the tops of my arms now I'm bigger though. I remember when lots of places used to do little short sleeved cotton cardigans, either plain or in a kind of lace knit. Really wish I could find some again.

On the bottom I wear either Levis denim shorts, a denim mini skirt (not short/short, either just over the knee or up to mid thigh) or floaty midi skirts. Or just rolled up jeans if not too warm.

If you’re at home why does it matter if shorts don’t suit you? Just wear them

Full-ish skirts that hit just below the knee, often from places like Boden and Seasalt, with a t-shirt (long or short sleeve) or if it's a bit dressy I wear a white button up shirt tucked into a full skirt. Probably hideously out of date but perfect for me!

Tube skirts aren't very forgiving so I give them a miss i just wear cropped trousers, shorts or a skirt. In hot weather I wear dresses.

Plisse culottes, they sound awful but are super comfy and can actually be dressed up pretty easily too. I've got several pairs in different colours now, and a few fancier pleated style. All under £15-£20 each.

@DrinkSangriaInThePark I love skirts like that but not sure where to get them from, can you suggest anywhere I can look for them?

@hollieberrie and @DrinkSangriaInThePark I’m so jealous. Absolutely love this look but when I try it I’m all belly!

Midi skirts. I used to hate summertime and feeling pressured to “show skin” and would consistently wear jeans... I must have looked so stupid. Nice midi skirt with a T-shirt tucked if going out and if in the garden... anything goes!

I’m wearing a vintage floaty a line mini skirt and I did have a T-shirt on but have opted for just a crop top/bralette now. Might go and put some shorts on though as the skirt is fairly high waisted. You’re in your own garden/home wear whatever is comfy!
