Does colour b4 actually work?

I’ve been a copper red all over for a few years now which I’m a bit bored with. I’m thinking of using colour b4 to get rid of all & the build up of all the colour.

Is this something that would work or should I avoid?

I used it as a teen after I'd stupidly dyed my hair black with a box dye to fulfil my gothic dreams Blush it did work, but it wasn't a very nice colour afterwards, a kind of orangey blonde and wasn't in the best condition! I just got my hair coloured properly afterwards so unless you're going to box dye it I wouldn't do it til you can get to a hairdresser because it won't be a nice colour once you've done it.

Yes but you will need to dye as it will lift the build up some areas of hair will be patchy due to staining.

I used it, it did take the colour out really well, but because hair dye generally contains peroxide it was very ginger underneath. It was also quite uneven so I dyed it again almost immediately and it pretty much went back to its original colour.....it was all a bit of a waste of time! You are supposed to wait two weeks before dying it again, which I guess is less of a problem on lockdown

It kind of worked for me - it generally turns already coloured hair to a copper colour afterwards, which is not unpleasant. It does leave your hair VERY porous though, so if you put a permanent or even semi permanent dye on right after it'll just go dark again!

So use a wash in/wash out colour over the top of it or just leave it alone for a couple weeks. It does smell utterly TERRIBLE though!!

I used the Superdrug own version last time and it smelled a lot better than Colourb4, and the end result was really good. Lifted my dark red to a nice coppery ginger.

I use the Jo Baz one in the red box from Savers. Smells awful but it strips the colour really well and evenly with mine and you can dye over it the same day. I took mine from dark red to brassy blonde then dyed it copper last time.

Like pp said you'll need to dye it after. Well not "need" but you'll probably want to. It dried my hair out a bit but I do get dry hair easily.
