Budget? What do you class as nude for your colouring? e.g. I'm very pale so I like a milky cream that Mac do A59 Brule but that wouldn't work for an olive or dark skin, or some people might like a peach or pink tone.

Also, you didn't ask and you're probably more of a pro than me, but I always use a primer, but especially under a nude colour as it brings it out more by using less.

I use Bobbi Brown Bone as a base, then any of the Urban Decay nudes that are matte.

Current favourite is ‘nude’ from their Naked Ultimate Basics palette.

My favourite is a nude but is also shimmery, so I guess it depends on what you're after. It's Kitten by Stila. It is such a beautiful colour, totally suitable for day or night. I love it.

This photo is quite handy for seeing the Mac neutrals all together instead of single swatches. All Mac shadows are good quality I’ve found over the years, just check the finish (satin, shimmer etc.) to make sure it’s what you are after. The Huda Beauty nudes palettes are good too, she has three - light, medium and rich.

If you are going for Mac I would suggest Patina as an all over shade slightly darker than a light skin tone
Bruce as a blank canvas shade
Soft brown as a light warm brown
Wedge as a neutral cool brown

Otherwise the pigment on Naked is lovely with just a hint of shimmer
