where all the brow hair are made to kind of go in one upwards uniform direction

I can't work out whether I like it or whether it looks weird? what do others think of this?

They look good on the picture but would they look shiny irl?

happyjack12 · 13/03/2020 19:15

nope

On the internet, some of the photos look OK but on the people I've seen IRL, it looks kinda weird. Maybe it hasn't been done very well on them, but it's not for me.

They looks bit silly in pictures when they're freshly done.

And then I've seen some about 2 weeks old, and they look messy, they've dropped and are sticking up in all different directions.

Danielle Lloyd did hers but didn't keep it like that long. It looks awful.

I am also considering this, bit put off about how quickly it fades though. Haven’t seen anyone in real life just yet though so interesting to hear that it doesn’t look as good

@mnthrowaway202020 the 2 week old ones I've seen in real life. Like I said above, sticking up different directions, the lamination has started dropping, new brow hair growing through, they just looked a mess tbh.

The ‘before’ brows looked perfectly ok. Why mess with them? Hmm

@WickedlyPetite I know I read your post - that does sound awful! Honestly I’d be annoyed at paying for the service to have it look that bad within two weeks! Seems almost pointless? I’d be back to pulling out the brow mascara!

@Lunaballoon This instagram influencer has really good laminated brows - I love the natural but thick/fluffy look.

Personally I think they look a bit strange irl. Kind of stuck on. I don't know what they'd be like when they started growing either.

See I think they look anything but natural, quite the opposite.

Wow. I had no idea that gluing your eyebrows in an unnatural direction was a thing. I’ve probably missed it before due to being distracted by the amount of duckface in all the photos of laminated brows.

Saw a video of this on Facebook earlier and thought it looked bloody awful. Don't understand what 'beauty' is these days - seems to be a competition to see who can make themselves look most ridiculous

I’ve had mine done twice. They look daft immediately because of the shiny serum, but great the next day. I have really, really thick eyebrows - I am white but always get told I have Asian brows - and after about a fortnight they started to look completely mad. That was apparently the “perm” growing out, and they needed a LOT of brow gel to have them look normal!

I really do like the effect though, and on people with finer hair they don’t tend to get the bushy pube thing I did. The girl I go to trained at Brow Jam.

To those of you that dislike the look - I can see where you’re all coming from to be fair.

I guess it’s because I have naturally thinly shaped brows (but lots of hair) so to achieve this defined hairy look I’d have to pencil them in...so that’s sort of why it looks natural to me, as it’s better than what makeup can offer.

There is absolutely nothing natural about the Instagram influencer's look.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really dislike the current fashion for false eyelashes. The woman in the link looks like she has spiders for eyelashes.

morriseysquif · 13/03/2020 23:51

@TeddyBeans I agree! The more fake the better it seems and no qualms about looking so fake. I do find the very long fake lashes almost mesmerising though! Grin

I like a strong brow but the laminating looks too much.

I feel really sorry for young girls these days, so much pressure to look so unhumun. I love make up and fashion and have more make up than anyone I know, so it's not that I'm just a wash with soap type of person, but today's make looks, are just horrible. It makes me feel old. 😂

BusterGonad · 14/03/2020 03:44

And that influencer is exactly what I'm talking about, her facial features are all out of sinc. Her eye brows are wider than her nose. Wow.

@mnthrowaway202020 OMG those poor young women in the pictures you’ve posted! Whoever they paid to do this to Grier faces needs to be prosecuted!

I like the look, you could buy Boy Brow from Glossier and experiment to see if you like it. It just washes off. Also look up on Youtube: soap brow Pixiwoo, this will achieve a similar result but not permanent
