What’s your skin like?
I’m quite invested in the whole thing / subject. I use Tretinoin and SPF. Good quality cheaper stuff mixed in.
I’ve been lucky to have been blessed with good skin though, and it was fine before l started messing with it. 🤣
Just couldn’t not try my best to preserve what l have at 48 l suppose!?

I use soap

Never used anything else and people can’t believe how old I am.

I don’t use anything most of the time, never had.
Quick swish of soapy water while in the bath and that’s it.
I have always had really fantastic skin.
However.
I am finding now that I have hit my thirties I seem to get hormone/cycle related breakouts and it is drier than it used to be so I do now put a facial oil on whenever I remember.

Soap and water daily.
SPF 50 when I lived in the middle east.
I'm told I have good skin - but is that because I use minimal stuff, or can I get away with minimal stuff because i have good skin?

I do very little in terms of skincare. I think I look my age - not much younger or much older.

I'm 50. I've never used anything but water. I think my skin looks like any other person's my age. People are often surprised when I say I'm 50, so it can't be that bad.

I don't do a lot OP, and it's fine. I'm not going to launch into delusion hyperbole that I scrub it with plain water and everybody thinks I'm 16 and so on. I use a cheap cream cleanser to which I add a drop of oil (don't care what, olive is fine), then cleanse after just with the cleanser and a flannel. Aveeno as a moisturiser. Carmex on lips, same morning and night- that's it. I don't do face masks etc.

Not against skincare regimes, I used to do quite a bit more (acid toners, masks, essence etc, and shell out on branded skincare but I'm just not convinced it does that much more. By the time my makeup is on I look the same, and I'd have worn it regardless.

I use coconut oil to remove my make-up, then a small amount of coconut oil to moisturise my whole face. That’s it. My skin is the best it has ever been.
Everything else seemed to strip moisture from it and leave it unbalanced.

I just use a foamy cleanser, moisturiser and spf. I'm a bit scared of trying anything else now as this has seen me well so far. I have very clear skin, not prone to break outs, and regularly go without make up. I'm not bothered by wrinkles yet - I mean, I have some but they're not upsetting me! I'm 41 and happy with my face Smile

I use soap and Nivea Soft moisturiser. In the summer i'll wear a sunscreen. People always think i'm younger than I am but it's probably a combination of factors not just my skin.

I don't do much, hardly any wrinkles despite being in my mid 50s.

Just water on my face, but I don't wear make-up so no need to remove and my skin isnt dry.

Same here. Minimal use of products, skin is pretty good. Moisturiser (Nivea) and eye makeup remover. Use eye makeup remover on whole face on the occasions I use foundation. No spots, no breakouts. A few wrinkles but to be expected at my age.

I hardly do anything. Wash with soap. Use whatever moisturiser is to hand - not a face moisturiser, just a generic one (E45 usually as I don’t like perfumed stuff). My skin is ok. Not miraculous but just fine. No worse than other women my age (mid forties). I’m sometimes told I look younger (but not often!!)

I do think a lot of people waste a lot of money on stuff for their face that does very little.

Olay as a moisturiser, minimal make up & Micellar to take it off. I only ever wear a BB cream, no foundation. Occaisionally use apricot scrub exfoliate in the shower (once or twice a month). I've aged since having dd but my skin is usually clear, sometimes dry but nothing awful. No soap, ever, on my face. Too drying.

Plain soap for sensitive skin and a flannel in the shower, and a big dollop of Nivea (in the dark blue pot) while my skin is still damp and warm. I have rosacea and it’s the only regime that doesn’t bring on flare ups. A massive tub is £6 and lasts about 6 months. I think I look pretty good for my age, but more importantly, my skin isn’t red and sore.

Most of the time nothing, if I'm leaving the house a tesco own brand face wipe.

In the days when I wore make up I would do a 'cleanse, tone moisturise' and not wear make up the following day.

I am lucky to have inherited genes from my Nana, all her side of the family look younger than they are.

Bioderma micellar to remove make up
Plain water on microfibre cloth to wash face
La Roche Posay moisturiser with SPF30 every day
Nothing at night

I've come through a15 year phase of terrible skin (rosacea and mild break outs) where nothing worked and I'm now back to blemish free in my 50s, hurrah for the perimenopause.

Very happy with this routine. SPF is so important.

Nothing much used here, just warm water and Nivea - I am only 60 and my skin is in very good condition, no lines. It is probably genetic, as my DM (87) also as very good skin.

I wash my face with (gentle) body soap, use a make up removal cloth and warm water to remove make up on the couple of days a week I wear it, and moisturise with a basic moisturiser morning and evening (because otherwise I get eczema). Apparently I look younger than I am.

I used to do lots, double cleanse, acid toner, serum, different day and night creams etc spending a fortune, but then my skin only got better when my child finally started sleeping through the night and I got enough sleep! Honestly I look a lot younger just from being well rested.
For the past year I've been trying to cut out plastic, so now I use a gentle facial soap and a plastic free moisturiser that comes in a tin, plus I occasionally use an oat based facial scrub. All far cheaper than the products I was previously using and my skin looks better.
