Sparse eyelashes - help!

I've noticed over the last few months that my eyelashes are becoming increasingly sparse (maybe it's an age thing? I'm 48).

I wear good-quality mascara daily (Dior) & use eyelash curlers as I'm a natural blonde - I need the definition.

Is there anything that will help with this?

Would something like LVL & tint be a less damaging option?

Are lash serums any good?

I don't want to go down the road of false lashes (am I right in thinking these do more damage?)

Is there anything else I can do?Any advise appreciated!

You could try castor oil.
My DD uses this (on a mascara wand to apply - Primark sells them)

DD has naturally good , long dark eyelashes anyway
She's had LVLs and the results are amazing . People ask her if they're false .
It is ££ ( I think £35 last time but now more like £50) and when they get to the end stages her eyelashes tangle .

She's used Revitalash too ( again brilliant results) but its close to £90 a go depending on the size and any special offers

I too have scabby useless eyelashes but I wince at the thought of using the oil in case it gets into my eyes .
I just admit defeat though I'd really like LVL

Eek - £90! I'll not be spending that! There are cheaper ones than that on eBay but fake I suspect.

Not sure how I'd get on with oils as I wear contact lenses daily.

Oh for thick dark lashes.....

Try the LVL.

My DD likes TooFaced Better Than Sex mascara (which is the thick end of £22) though she's impressed at the Primark one .
LVL gives her the most amazing dark tinted lashes , lasts months (as long as your eyelashes stay in situ)

I am really tempted to try (I'd need a patch test first)

I've got some beauty salon vouchers to use so might give the LVL a shot before my summer holidays.

It's such a chore using eyelash curlers & mascara every day. I'm sure the lash curlers are contributing to the loss of eyelashes too - sometimes it takes 1 or 2 out as I use them.

Definitely Revitalash. It really does work wonders. Think it's about £40.

I actually had to stop using it because my eyelashes were getting too long!

Actually, just seen that LookFantastic are selling it for £29.99. I'd definitely bag that deal if I were you!

Thanks for the tip - I might just do that & hope they grow enough in the next month or two so I can get LVL in June.

@TequilaMonster I can't find it on Look fantastic. I've found one on Amazon for £20.99 but I'm not sure it's the right one. It's the lash enhancing serum and looks like a mascara, but with an ordinary make up brush on the end. Is that the one?

Revitalash and Lumigan (prescription only) are insane.
I have been using these serums for 4 months, recently had LVL and wow my lashes look like I have had extensions

I naturally have blond lashes. But in this photo I am not wearing any makeup. Had LVL a week ago and have been using the serums since November 19

Wow, @Freshnewus - that's seriously impressive!

I'll maybe try to post a picture of my crappy lashes later!

I used to buy Revitalash from QVC but they aren't stocking the serum now .
I bought a duo of the Advanced (I think 4ml each) for my DD a couple of Christmases ago. They lasted about 6 months each tube .
There are smaller tubes out there and I have seen it on other sites but YY look out for fakes on some sites .

They do a primer (it's a blue mascara , no great shakes) and curlers (that are rubbish TBH) and a Brow Serum that is good if you keep it up .
So the 'kits'weren't as good value as the serum on its own.

I'm going to take a photo of mine (for future reference ) to see if I can improve them.

Try the Revitalash @GlassOfProsecco! I honestly thought it wouldn't work. But with that + LVL, I never wear mascara (I get horrible smudging from mascara!)

Can i suggest a lbrow tint as well, strangely it helps make the lashes look better. And definitely a lash tint and a lash lift doesnt need to be lvl thats a brand and will probably be more expensive because of the name. Any lash lift will be as good, its the therapist doing it and their technique thats important, not what brand they use.

Rapidlash is cheaper than Revitalash (£40 ish in boots but can often get it for £20-30 on Amazon) and works brilliantly if you use it everyday. Just have to persevere for a few weeks!

Oh thanks! It's on offer for £20.99 on Amazon prime. Might get that as £35 is a lot of money.

Try some Vaseline first OP I find that massively helps mine - toddler DS pulled a large amount out for me on one eye Blushand I used some Vaseline and they have grown back brilliantly I use it every night now and mine are definitely improving.

I used Revitilash when I stopped using falsies as had nothing and it was good. But - it made my lashes longer but not thicker which was what I really wanted. I miss my falsies but don’t dare go back after the damage they did

Rapid lash ordered!

I also noticed some 'new' cheaper sellers from Amazon- suspect they are a bit suspect so ordered directly.

And 2 more eyelashes fell out this morning- bloody middle age!

I'm very excited

Mmmm - hard to say! I feel the existing eyelashes are longer - but not any thicker. There's some new lashes coming through & I don't think it's making them grow faster - will be interesting to see if they grow in thicker.

All round, i think LVL will be the best option; hopefully in the next few months the serum will have given me more growth for the procedure.

Just thought I'd update; I've been using Rapidlash & am now finding it has made an improvement .

Although I also changed mascara; having used Dior for over 20 years, I tried the L'Oréal Paradise Extatic mascara (which has Castor oil in it).

So between these two things, I am seeing a definite improvement.

Without mascara, it's not noticeable- but with a coat of brown mascara, it's a definite improvement.
