Decent slippers!

Can anyone recommend a good pair of slippers that won't break the bank? I'm a SAHM so wear them a lot. We have hard floors in the living area as well, so really want a proper sole that will take a dash to put the bins out etc.
Every pair I have only lasts a few months before splitting or wearing out. I've looked at mahabis but am loathe to spend so much on a pair of slippers! Are they really worth it? Do they last that much longer to warrant the price?
I'm not that bothered on style but really prefer a back on my slippers, I tend to fall out of backless ones and they keep my feet warmer!

I have a great pair of Clark’s suede mules. I’m a SAHM with hard floors and they’ve lasted for years. I’ll see if they do a similar pair. Hang on.

What size are you? I've discovered kids m&s slippers are brilliant and go up to a 5!

Sorry I can’t see anything similar. I bought my mum a totes pair from Debenhams for Christmas. I thought they looked solid but they already feel paper thin. Wouldn’t recommend.

I wear Crocs as slippers, with the backs down. Would that suit you?

I used to wear Birkenstock’s around the house, completely covered over toes. They were pretty indestructible and you can get them with backs on.
I only got rid of them as they were felt and we had a sickness bug...

I am on my second pair of Haflinger clogs. I wear them daily and love them. They last about 3 years of serious inside and outside use

Well worth the price imho

sketchers Bobs, very hard wearing with good sole, cheaper in outlet shop

I have a pair of fleecy boots from Next that I wear as slippers. They look like Uggs but much cheaper! Very cosy and fine for going out to do the bins etc.

I’ve got a pair similar to these. I’ve had mine about fours years and they’re still great. The soles are thick enough that you can go outside in them.

Lands End- I too was fed up with cheapy foamy ones lasting a couple of months and at Christmas treated me and DD to a pair of these each. £25 iirc. Fantastic, warm, comfy, solid soles. Literally cannot wait to put them on every day.

I second sketchers bobs.

IHeartKingThistle Sun 01-Mar-20 21:54:43

Moshulu all the way.

JoanieCash Sun 01-Mar-20 21:54:49

I got MIL a pair of Moshulu slippers at Christmas. Solid sole, she really likes them. We’re roughly £30

I have a pair of totes isotoners that I bought from tkmaxx they're fine.

I wear Celtic sheepskin slippers. The cost is eye watering (!) though I can say that they are the best ones I’ve ever found and last me years at a time, and I wear them every day.

They fluff back up in the washing machine and I think I replace them once every 3 or so years, so all in all, they work out at an ok cost.

DingoDing Sun 01-Mar-20 21:57:43

I have got these North Face ones, very warm and toasty

Moshulu here too. They last ages.
Or the Kirkland ones in Costco if you want something very warm

Movinghouseatlast Sun 01-Mar-20 22:04:07

Fitflop slippers are ace.

Blownaway22 Sun 01-Mar-20 22:04:27

Maybe a bit pricey but these Uggs are so comfortable, brilliant for hours standing on tiled floors! I’ve had mine 10 years and only now are they needing replaced.

user1497787065 Sun 01-Mar-20 22:13:29

Any style of Ugg slipper. They last years.

embolass Sun 01-Mar-20 22:21:29

Next Ugg copies great buy, v warm, comfy, thick sole and only £20!!

DelphicOracle Sun 01-Mar-20 22:22:32

Best slippers ever are Bedroom Athletics... I live in their fluffy boots one ... memory foam soles, super comfy, and last a long time - plus SO warm !

thenightsky Sun 01-Mar-20 22:24:46

I use Primark Ugg-look-alikes. They are meant for outdoors but I keep the soles clean for indoors (combination of tiled and wood floors). I've had mine 3 years now and they are barely worn looking. I go out in them just to nip to the car, over gravel, or hang the washing out when its dry. I think they cost £8.

Merename Sun 01-Mar-20 22:27:13

I have some off amazon called gumbies. £35, hard sole and supportive. Only had them two weeks, was a splash out but better than any I’ve had before!
