What to wear to a wedding in 30-40 degree heat?

I'm a guest at a wedding abroad in the middle of summer and I have no idea what to wear.

I'm on a name change so I will add that I don't do well in heat, so I need something that won't show sweat marks if possible!!

I'll be wearing nice flat sandals, the bride is not wearing heels. It's a hotel wedding rather than beach, but I'm guessing it will be outdoors.

I'm 5 ft 8, size 10, late 20's. If anyone can find me a dress/jumpsuit that will keep me cool, look nice, and survive ironing with a hotel iron, I would be forever grateful!

Eh ? Wearing ivory to a wedding is not usually viewed in a positive light

I would go for something sleeveless to minimise the risk of sweat marks. I would also stay away from anything tight that might make you feel uncomfortable in the heat.
Maybe a floaty floral wrap dress like this one from Silk Fred - www.silkfred.com/boutiques/girl-in-mind/clothing/exclusive-mia-navy-floral-wrap-dress
They have loads of options on there for good prices.

Something made of natural material. Avoid synthetics, including skirt linings at all costs.

Skirt/dress and bare legs will be a lot cooler than trousers.

Perhaps get something that is floaty and loose fitting - much cooler and less likely to show sweat marks.

I wouldn't rule out sleeves. Covering arms from the sun can be best, just don't get tight fitting ones.

I speak from the experience of living in the Middle East where every day in summer was 40c.

Only wear pure cotton, ideally something strappy and loose fitting maxi. I would strongly suggest looking at websites from overseas, it’s very hard to find things suitable for that kind of weather in British stores.

I'd advise against wearing a jumpsuit as that could make you hotter. The last thing you want is sweat marks around your crotch or bum crack on display! And definitely not an ivory jump suit!!!

Look for floaty dresses, with no sleeves or short sleeves. Preferably in a print (so sweat marks are less noticeable).

What about something like this? Note the open back so you'll get some cool air on your back. I have some blouses in this fabric in Palones and they don't really crease at all and they're very light so ideal for travelling and hot places.

I used to live in Asia so mastered the art of looking chic without sweating obviously. Take a fan with you (Khu Khu do some lovely ones: khukhu.com/) and a small facecloth in your handbag to discreetly dab any sweat away.

Another one who lived in a place where summer was regularly above 45C.
Loose, natural fabrics, ideally a dress. Light colours- you will feel the difference between a lighter colour and darker stuff. I would advocate sleeves - unless you know your shoulders wont burn.

Thanks for the tips and links, I like a lot of the stuff on Silk Fred so I'm going to start there later!
