I always love threads where people recommend things. I love exploring new stuff: ideas.
On the back of a thread a short time back I invested in some hourglass ambient lighting powder and blush and they’re game changers for me as I basically can’t go wrong and they make a huge difference to my face.
Face exercises too- suddenly my hollow under eye area is plumping up and I look loads better even though I shouldn’t ( thick with cold and menopausal lack of sleep)

Charlotte tilbury make up, game changer for my forty year old sleepless nights with one year old skin. Pots of eyeshadow and light wonder especially.

Joined dermatica for retinol treatment but haven't seen any real change yet, been about six weeks.

One of those jade rollers from
Amazon (dead cheap and really nice to use!)

@mynamesmrdiggety
I have only tried one CT product years ago- rock roll Kohl i think it was called. It was awful and was under my eyes within a couple of hours- no other eyeliner has performed so badly. It put me off ever trying anything from her range. Maybe she has improved things since? Glad that works for you thoughSmile

CeraVe facewash, cream and eye cream- it's transformed my skin.

AYU buffer brush, best make up brush I've EVER used and I've tried them all.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I use the CeraVe face wash- it's great, haven't tried the other products. What does a buffer brush do and what do you use it with?

Give anything from The Ordinary a go. You can buy it from their own stores, Boots, ASOS and other online stores. It's very very affordable and you buy the actual active ingredients. So instead of getting a teeny weeny bit of vitamin C in a face cream for example, with The Ordinary you buy vitamin C. For around £5. You can treat yourself with multiple products and still only spend the equivalent of one Elizabeth Arden / Clarins / Clinique product!

Oily skin, glow recipe watermelon sleep mask and moisturiser at night, skin feels amazing. The watermelon spray is gorgeous too, ery refreshing and will use loads in summer.
I also recently bought babylis makeup mirror as i struggle to see well without glasses, brilliant!
Focallure eyshadows, dupes for high end, pigment is amazing and just as good as the high end ones i have.

I just rediscovered TO niacinamide and zinc serum. Goodbye pores, redness and excess oil.

Also, I am loving rice bran oil as a cleanser and for after serums and before moisturiser. Just lovely.
Slightly thinner than hemp, but richer than grapeseed and squalene oil.

Lastly, I'm bloody loving Maybelline radiant dream liquid foundation.
Oh my goodness!
It blends like a dream, covers what it should and my skin looks fresh and hydrated.
I even love it more than no7 hydraluminous and Loreal pro glo put together! Smile

I'm also loving the elf putty primer.
It is so smoothing and hydrating. My foundation goes on like silk over it and it whisks away any dry patches or flakes.
I will never be without it now.

Oooh can we have a link to the face exercises please?

Eucerin Vitamin C Booster - has resurfaced my skin and goit rid of crepe under eyes
Kiehls Avocado eye cream. I don't agree with eye creams in principle but lord this is hydrating and eyes stay hydrated all day.

Thanks for all the ideas.
I have just got the elf putty primer and am really impressed.
Must re-buy from the ordinary- seem to remember I had their copper buffet a while back.
Not tried rice bran oil. I am a big fan of oils generally.

Clarins Everlasting Youth Fluid foundation. It's very nice- good smooth finish and lots of shades to get a good match. Cute bottle too which is short and fat so not too tall to sit in my make-up drawer like most bottles.

Trinny London bff. A totally idiot proof sort of tinted moisturiser with spf 30 that gives me a lovely glow. I wear a lot less foundation since started using it.

Moisturising Primer from Good Molecules by Beautylish. I've used every primer going -TO, Morphe, Benefit, Elf Pore Putty and more and I've never been happy but I love this one. I noticed the difference in the way my make-up sits on my skin immediately.

Place marking for research tomorrow but I've been using Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation for years , worryingly it's disappeared from the space nk display , they still had some in stock however.
It's nice with the hourglass mineral primer and even a little looks great.
I second the recommendation of the ambient light powders by HG and mine have lasted years . I know we are meant to bin them but I don't care, I'll take my chances Grin
I'm always on the lookout for a solution to large pores , benefit porefessional is quite good not quite a holy grail though .

You apply foundation with it. Looks really ordinary but it applies it flawlessly. The difference is incredible. Irish make up artist called Suzie O'Neil started the company and I really rate her Instagram stories and tips. No highlighting of noses or dodgy contouring thank you very much!
