Help me choose an amazing dress

I 'may' be having a significant birthday soon. I was hoping to get a dress made but two local dressmakers have proven useless, so might want to buy one instead.

I'm size 14, used to be hourglass but now a bit rounder, busty. I'm very fussy! I want something that feels dressy but could equally well just be worn with ankle boots and a biker jacket to the pub. Would prefer it to have at least short sleeves, and not be polyester. Black or red probably my best colours, or maybe a dark print.

Budget up to about £200 for something really amazing.

Thank you but not fond of that. Looks like a work dress.

OP, that one looks like it's caught in your knickers!

Maybe that's why I like it? Grin

It's definitely got to have sleeves.

I don't really like the retro sites, tbh.

I was going to suggest phase8, too, as they have lots of dresses in similar style to the all saints one you posted. What happened to VW? Does she no longer suit?

Can you post a few dresses you like so we know what your taste is like? For what it's worth, I like dresses from Maje and Sandro. Very chic.

The only VWs I can afford are the very clingy jersey ones, and I'm a bit too fat for them now!

Sorry but that gold one is about as far from something I'd wear as it is possible to get!

So a sort of steel/grey colour wrap/drap with sleeves?

Thanks for the links but that white one is (imvho) not nice at all. It's like something off Dynasty.

I don't do bling, or gaping cleavage or anything like that. I'll look at Phase 8, although it's not somewhere I'd generally find anything I like.

Could you wear a sleeveless one with a bolero or shrug over it?

I like this but it's a bit dull.
