ok been thinking about this for a few days and i needed to post on mumsnet about it lol.

What is your every day dress at home with the kids. I know i have kinda let myself go so to speak in terms of clothes and make up (hygine all well!

Annyway my kinda thing is jeans, jeans and jans. erm hubbys t shirts no make up hair tied back and trainers. Sometimes i run up stairs to put pj bottoms on comfort you see

Lol so you can see i am in need of some insperation because i am sure there is not many mummies that dont make an effort, every mum i see alwas looks great.

Excellent it is the stay at home mum uniform. Just wait till you get to the school gates and then it is a whole different ball game.
Some days I dont even change out of my sloppy at home bottoms. I may brush my hair but only if I remember to look in the mirror.
My dh often asks if I have left the house like that and did anyone we know see me! Not sure how to take that mind you!

Mostly jeans/other loose waisted trousers and random tops like V neck or wrap types, mostly from primark or evans so hardly height of fashion(Am heavily pregnant so sometimes wear loose skirts but only as it is cooler!)
I do make a bit more of an effort (ie clean clothes and makeup!) on wednesday's as it is toddler group day!
Have been known not to brush hair for 2 ro 3 days at a time as well

The only rule I have is that I get dressed every morning before coming downstairs as otherwise I wouldn't bother and wouldn't leave the house!

I have about 5 pairs of cargotype trousers and 5 tee shirts - I wear them.

Yesterday, DS3 poo-ed over me in the morning so I had to change and he was sick over me in the afternoon.

I think I'll just stick with my current "style" until it make sense to wear something a bit smarter!!

I currently wear a) whatever I can fit into after giving birth 3 weeks ago b) whatever is clean c) if nothing is clean; whatever is on my bedroom floor from day before

Usually jeans with a vest under a top (for bf purposes).

I do try to put on a minimal layer of make up everyday (just so I don't scare anyone)and sometimes even wash and brush my hair!

This is an interesting post!

I always make an effort as if I don't I feel awful all day. I only wear a little bit of make up but it makes me feel so much better and I try to have my hair down but by the end of the day it ends up up!

I try and be trendy, today I have shorts and footless tights and a layer top on. I keep thinking to myself I need some new clothes as I feel so untrendy.

I feel if I spend a little bit of time on myself in the morning it sets me up for the day.

if we're not going out, its jeans or jogging bottoms & top, but if going out, tend to dress a bit nicer, skirt, top, cardi, flip flops, have even been know to wear boden.

don't wear make up and hair is in a short layered bob which is really easy to manage.

i am low maintenance

Also tend to rely on jeans!! T shirts if in the house, a nice top if going out.

tbh even before i had ds i was vv low maintenance. dont wear make up (never have) hair is long so ends up tied back and have always been a jeans and tshirt/vest type of girl. i do make an effort if we go out butwould rather do that and feel like its a big deal than do it every day iykwim

Jeans are great tho because they can be dressed up or down.

Today I wore jeans and black wedges with a turquoise top from Principles (£8 in sale!) and long dangly earrings.

Hair is in a shortish bob which I want cutting and colouring again to look a bit trendier.

I wore minimum makeup...just enough to look human but I was complimented on how nice I looked today.

so I wasnt smart but I looked a bit funky and had made a bit of an effort and was rewarded with the compliment!!

I normally wear jeans (I like Principles ones are a good fit for me) a vest and a Monsoon tunic and birkies if warm - tinted moisturiser, mascara and lip gloss at least. I always wear a necklace even if I just have jeans and T on, makes it look like you've made an effort. Have long straight hair, somedays don't brush it or wear it down.

Didn't think I was too bothered by this until today, cleaning all day in a tracksuit had to nip to the local shop (Waitrose) and couldn't be bothered to change - it was bad, I saw loads of mums from school (private) all done up and accessorised. I will make more effort in future!

Before I had to do school runs I didn't bother so much either.

oh and always have cake mixture covered apron to hand, and if someone pops round when you are watching daytime telly, you can throw it on and pretend you are being domestic goddess!

see i have lots of new make-up, accesories but not the clothes lol.I used to be high maintenance pre-preg but now i just dont suit it. It no longer works as for clothes i keep thinking i will buy them when i have lost some weight.(1 and half stone to lose) My youngest is over 1 year so no exscuses any more! but its hard lol
to be honest i think i am stuck in a rut and have no idea what suits my new body shape

I was out shopping the other day and caught site of myself in the mirror in Next. Where is that funky, energetic, pretty girl that I was before I had children?!
I looked exhausted with my hair back in a ponytail, no makeup, UGG boots and scruffy cardigan.
I really only wear jeans, tees and cardigans. I have been trying to make an effort to wear more "dressy" tees and cardigans.
Having said that, I have been in my pj bottoms all day. Did change my shirt as the shower was left on and the head turned out when I went to give the kids a bath. I got soaked and was just so stunned I sat there screaming without moving.
???

I do try to make an effort to dress in presentable way even if I am just going to Tesco's - but I have always been a scruffy type anyway so my idea of presentable is very different to the rest of you yummy mummies p'haps???

I often do not brush my hair just twist it up out of the way. I wear patterned shift dress/ tunic with jeans and birks most days and have worn my pac-a-mac more often than I have liked this summer! Do get the occasional skirt out but when you are running after a 3yo and a 16mo it is not the most practical choice.

Have only ever worn make up when 'going out' so my range of glitter eye shadows and gloss etc. is not appropriate for daytime use

My kids are a million times more 'on trend' than I - especially since mil went crazy in the next sale - lol
