I am looking for a winter jacket for my dd and really like the spotty fleece lined anorak.

Do you think this will be fairly warm? Is their sizing fairly reliable or do I need to go bigger/smaller?

TIA

I think Boden are slightly on the large side... my DS is tall and in most shops I get him a size bigger, but at Boden I get the right size for his age and it is slightly large and he grows into it. Fleece lined jacket sounds warm - I have an adult's Boden fleece-lined raincoat which is v. cosy.

scots - I would get the right size as their sizes are generous. they have 10% off and free p&p and free returns atm so you always return it if it doesn't fit

dd is 4.6. two years ago i bought her a winter coat aged 3-4. she was a few months away from her third birthday so i thought it would be fine. she used it all that winter, ( i rolled the cuffs up once) and all last winter, and i see no reason why she cant wear it still. it's obviously shorter on her, but still a wearable size on her. and i think it is in good enough condition for another child to wear for a few years.

boden stuff wears sooooo well. i bought her a skirt at the same time. she has worn it almost continously with boots and tights in the winter, and on its own in the summers. it was a longish style to begin with, and is now knee length. two weeks ago a friend asked if it was new.....

Ooh scotslass, I may be too late, but Boden do these or something very similar every year, so there are often loads of them floating around on ebay for half the price. Got DD a great flowery fleece lined one last autumn, good as new for £12.00.

That sounds good, I'll have a look. How warm did your dd find it?

The fleece lined jackets are good, but not when it is very cold. We often layered with a jumper, top and vest, so it was okay. I would suggest a coat as well if it gets bitterly cold where you are.
Brilliantly jackets that last for years (as most Boden stuff does IMO).
