I was given a Mulberry travel wallet, pouch/ clutch bag type thing and a handbag a few years ago by an ex.
Is there a quick way to spot a fake, I want to try and sell them but I haven a clue about hand bags or designer stuff. I mean really, not a Scooby Smile

If you imagine I've just fell to earth level please Grin I googled and tried to check the stitching but could I bugger see it, even with readers on!

Like the pawn shop?
I did wonder if I should just pawn it but don't want to look a fanny in the shop if it's just a good quality fake Blush

If you go on Facebook there is a lady called Eileen Jenkins who has a company called Authentic8. If you message her pics of your bag she will tell you if it’s a fake or not for £5.00. She will tell you what photos you need but the things she looks at include the postman’s lock, the mulberry tag inside the bag on the pocket. It usually has a mulberry tree on 1 side and a serial no on the other. There is usually a made in label inside the pocket of the bag - it also has 3 numbers on the back .
There are other online companies which do the same . Would be more reliable than the pawn shop.
There are also lots of mulberry selling sites on Facebook where you can get a better price than selling it to a dealer

It's worth £5 not to get the iron out Grin scare the spiders.
Does it matter that they are used?
I think my ex tried to smarten me up, always really nice gifts but always more....appropriate iykwim.
My doubt is he was military, travelled extensively, knew the price of everything and value of nowt. He would spot a quality fake and a chance to save a few quid. Scotstill--
Also a three set type of thing, is that normal?
bit bitter still

You should have a metal tag in it with a serial number on the back? You could ring a mulberry store and give them the number to check? They have a database.

When he gave it to you did it have all the cards and ID info with it? It all should have been inside in a little envelope with a mulberry watermark on it and inside the bag. Even the purses have a little envelope with a ID card type thing in them.

How many years ago is "a few"? Some of my older stuff has no serial numbers.

What was the gift box like? Was it branded tissue? What does the gift receipt say? What model name eg alexa, darley, bayswater (will be on receipt/paperwork) and what season code is in the sewn inside label?

Not all mulberry have the metal tag, Ive got 3 mulberry bags from 2016 onwards and none do and i bought them from official stores.

Take it to a store.

Doesn’t matter that they are used- there’s lots of buying and selling of used mulberry. Not heard of sets of 3 but not an expert in any way. Don’t suppose you want to post a pic

You wouldn't normally get a set, but you could buy 3 items in the same range and leather. It'd cost you though! Knocking on 1.5k to 2k.

Last I heard Mulberry wouldn't identify them for you, I had a (genuine) 1980's Mulberry and it didn't have a metal tag or serial number. I also have one that's a fake that DOES have a serial number!

Mulberry no longer authenticate their items in the shops or at customer services- they stopped years ago.
There is no database of serial numbers.
Receipts, boxes, bags, dust bags , tags etc are all frequently faked.

You will need to pay an authentication service . Authenticate4u are probably the best .

The other way you could do it is to list them on eBay and then request an authentication from the Mulberry experts on The Purse Forum .

They can’t authenticate from your own pictures or FB etc - the item must be listed on a public site.
Hope this helps.

Mulberry shops have not authorised bags for many years. Some Mulberry fakes can be pretty good and some are very obviously fake so the best thing is to use a paid for service as recommended above. If you are willing, post a couple of pictures on here and someone might be able to tell you if it's even worth contacting an authorisation service.

You can also get Mulberry bags from their outlets. They are cheapened versions and won’t have the same stuff as full price items. The leather on those still looks more expensive than a very good fake. Have you got a friend who’s into designer bags? They should be able to tell straight away.

From what I can see you have a Tooled Bayswater in Oak Darwin Leather, an oak longlocked purse and a cosmetic pouch. They don't look like obvious fakes so I would recommend contacting one of the online authentication services mentioned above. They will want close up images of hardware, tags, stitching, the postman lock etc and will be able to advise. Fingers crossed for you.

They don't look fake. I don't think counterfeiters would bother with a conplicated tooled Bayswater when they could produce a normal Bays.

I would recommend Labels Most Wanted id you want to use a reseller.

Actually looking at the images again, do the two small purse-like bags have straps? If so, the plain one that I though was a long locked purse could be a Bayswater clutch (it would have a metal chain) and the other (ruched one) could be a Joelle Pochette (it would have a leather strap). The cardboard tags would tell you the names. Either way, getting them authorised is the only way to be sure.

If you have an auction house near you - you could ask them as most do handbag sales.

I did have a chain strap for one but it got thrown away. Blush
I'm not brilliant at keeping stuff together, I had a purse as well but can't find it only the box, I was storing jigsaws in the boxes.
I didn't get them all at once, they were individual gifts. Look like a set to me Grin

I will have to take them somewhere. David Bailey I'm not!

Not that I would know the difference but they feel like very good quality. If they are fakes I'll find a use for them but I will be chuffed if they are real, council tax will be too Grin

Thanks all I knew S+B wouldn't let me down Wine
