Had to run some errands today so mum jeans & a Mango red sweater, paired with a pair of burgundy loafers

Hello everyone

I’m going to join in as I need motivation to make more effort. I used to put effort into clothes etc but it all went downhill when I had my baby and I let myself go, despite promising myself I wouldn’t.

Baby is now a toddler so often I need to get ready quickly and have a bad habit of grabbing whatever is on top of the clean laundry pile. I’ve lost my way and want to feel more confident and stylish again. I have so many clothes I never wear and need to start making the most of my wardrobe, not just wearing the same old leggings!

I work from home a lot and weekends are spent doing toddler stuff so sometimes I wonder what the point in making an effort is, but I need to make an effort for myself, for my own self esteem I have concluded.

So here I am.
Jumper - Jigsaw cashmere (via charity shop)
Jeans - New Look Lift & Shape skinny jeans
Slippers - Celtic & Co Sheepskin knitted slippers which I love.

I was wearing my Aigle wellies when I was out earlier for a muddy walk.

Home day today. Animal print m and s leggings, grey jumper!
Black gazelles when I went out!

In the process or ordering black sweater and a cord skirt from DP’s.

I had the mint velvet ‘leather’ leggings - they were good but I just am not brave enough to wear them so sent them back! I ordered mine via Next! Have just ordered their coated skinnies to try. X

Thanks for the new ‘bread’ Ella 😂

Ah that’s so kind of you @KiteflyingKat I don’t think I’ve ever been called stylish before Grin I’m at home with the toddler & baby today & it was VERY tempting to wear leggings & baggy jumper but that’ll make my Stylebook app calendar look rubbish so I made more of an effort 😂 it’s the first time wearing this jumper so I thought it was silly to keep waiting until I go out somewhere nice. I also have the NL lift & shape jeans (high waisted) - I love them.

@Softpebbles I have the Next coated jeggings. They are lovely but a bit stiff which I hate especially with my scar. That’s why I’m intrigued by the faux leather MV ones - seems like they would be soft? Can you remember what they were like?

Rejoining. This thread was a little dose of daily cheer as I got over a close death. Then life happened and I fell off.

Dashing to pilates now, will post outfit later.

@happytobemrsg I don’t remember them being really stiff, had a nice wide waistband. I’m a 10 and had the S. I really liked them just have no confidence to wear them!

Sorry really rude of me too - thanks for the thread @Ellapaella.

@Ellapaella do you have the ones I linked to on old thread? these? Trying to find out if anyone in real life tried them. I kind of like them but would I wear them?

@Softpebbles bet you'd look great in them

@Sigh1738 welcome back. X

And @KiteflyingKat that's why I joined really. I literally do not go out as I have a permanently sick DD who can't be left alone (though hoping to get out tonight for a quick pub dinner ) but decided I needed to not save my favourite things for an 'occasion'. So I try to motivate myself through clothes. It's working so far

@Sooverthemill yes I have those ones, they are really nice and actually quite cheap.

@happytobemrsg I don’t actually like the Lift & Shape jeans - they are supposed to be high waisted but slip down onto my hips. They are definitely not too big though.
Think I’ll stick to Topshop which I think are the best jeans out of the non-premium brands.

Thanks @Ellapaella

Dark blue gap skinny jeans, black and white striped 3/4 sleeve top from pepperberry, a suede & fur (both fake) black gilet from river island, a tan across body fringed bag from river island and black ankle boots from RI too.

Was only doing stuff with my 3yo & DH today so didn't need to be particularly stylish.

@happytobemrsg was it you who mentioned sequinned skirts? Styled by susie has posted about them today!

After your post about them I’d looked on eBay. I’ve just bought this one from eBay 🤦‍♀️ Probably won’t dare wear. Was thinking sweater and boots for day unsure of night. Maybe a nice cami and heels / boots. X

Skinny jogging from m and s, grey tee with lace bits (Primark ages ago and keeps on going) and a striped Gap jumper. Scruffy but comfy. Love those animal leggings!

Can I join please? I’m trying to declutter my wardrobe, get rid of some ‘favourites’ that have seen better days, and actually wear the nice stuff (rather than saving it for ‘best’).

I’m currently wearing silk trousers from Jigsaw and a navy T-shirt from Warehouse. Plus my favourite navy leather trainers (Jigsaw again). I’m also sitting outside - I’m on holiday in Cyprus and it’s currently 21C.

Popped into town this afternoon, horrible wet day so long boots on (with the outfit above) and a not very stylish old waterproof jacket.

Speaking of sequin skirts, Dotty P have a really nice one at the moment. I tried it on today and it’s very flattering, it’s also not completely sequined so it would be a little easier to dress down.

I’m a 12 bottoms so I’m tempted to order the M @Softpebbles. Yes that was me! I’m totally taking credit for the latest post 😂 I’m planning on wearing my black sequin skirt on Wednesday shopping. I just need to be brave! I love the skirt you’ve bought - what will you wear with it? I’d recommend the ribbed batwing jumpers from New Look (£13 I think). They tuck in lovely & give you a nice shape on top.

Very pretty @Talisin. I think I’m supposed to avoid pencil skirts but that’s lovely.

I must be filling mine out too much @KiteflyingKat 😂😂😂😂

Welcome @OublietteBravo!

@OublietteBravo yes I also need to stop saving stuff for “best”. I very rarely have an occasion to dress up for these days, and I want to look nice every day to help lift my self esteem.

I’m also trying to sort my wardrobe. I’m going to wear everything once and anything I don’t feel good in is going to charity shop. I’ve got too much stuff that doesn’t fit quite right post baby.
