You might get away with wearing them with jeans but absolutely not a dress skirt or any other material of trousers. Except maybe cargo/camping type trousers. And only whilst on a hike .

Honestly? They're only for hiking, definitely not for wearing as a casual trainer type boot.

No, I haven't linked the wrong boots!!

I am walking A LOT, around 10 miles a day - have a lot of weight to lose and walking is the only exercise I can really do right now apart from swimming. I have plantar fasciitis so it's really important I have footwear that is supportive and comfortable for the walking. But also want to be able to wear them most of the time.

The classic MN "mum boots" were boots that had been fashionable-ish in the late 90s, but by the late 00s were only worn by out-of-date "mums" (because of course we love to use words like that to criticise other women.

So many 90s trends are in the shops, those boots are surely due to be trendy again?

So go and see a physio and get some advice, some exercises and probably some insoles. There are plenty of things you can wear you just need a bit of advice from someone who knows what they're talking about.

Wear what you like! You want to walk a lot and those boots look very comfy and durable, so wear them and walk.

I don't see why you can't wear them with normal clothes. If you're walking a lot, it's surely better to wear hiking boots than unnecessary head-to-toe Goretex. Could you maybe find a more discreet design, without all the clashing swirly bits?

Those around here signify that you are over 65, retired and have come walking in the hills with appropriate outdoor clothing and a rucksac.
