What is your favourite handbag and why?

Looking for my ideal handbag which is proving really elusive. I want it to be in butter soft leather. One over shoulder strap or grab handles. Lots of pockets, not too heavy. Enough space for lots of things but doesn't look bulky when half empty. Preferably in an unusual colour. Easy to open.

Did you post in the right topic?

No obviously not! I've asked for it to be moved. Sorry!

We'll move it over to style and beauty now. Flowers

Doesn’t fit many of your criteria but my fave (and I have lots) all rounder is my dark green suede bucket bag from hands of tym

Butter soft leather with lots of pockets and a shoulder bag just don’t mix. Very soft leather is very shapeless. It will pull out of shape with heavy things in it. Half empty is better! My Chanel 55/2 is butter soft calf skin! It’s shaped though with a chain shoulder strap. Look for that style perhaps?

My favourite is a tiny black cross body bag by (oh the shame) Radley. Lots of pockets, bit of a tardis, not heavy. I really want a navy version as well.

Mine is my Coach Scout Hobo in khaki. Soft leather, shoulder strap, lovely lining. You don't tend to get loads of pockets in slouchy bags though. Buy a bag liner?

Yes, the pockets and soft leather thing doesn't work I suppose. Pictures?

I have the bag you're looking for ;) I bought it years ago for €25 and the leather was purely shite so I sent it off to a lady who makes handbags and she re-made it in better quality materials. Sadly she made pockets a bit too shallow and the zips don't close properly so the bag lost a bit of it's versality but it's a great bag :)
Zara bags are shockingly bag quality but great design - they seem to understand that a bag need pockets. I'm yet to find a designer bag with enough pockets. Maybe I am not losh enough for a designer bag and have too much junk Smile

Many years ago I was on holiday and when chatting around the hotel pool one lady told us she was a handbag designer.

She was inundated with suggestions for shapes and how many pockets a bag should have. However the designer felt that lots of pockets spoilt the line of her design.

Which is why we are spending our time searching for the holy grail of lovely bags with just the right amount of pocket!

Fossil is actually not bad in the pockets department. And the lenght of the handles. Their bags fit beautifully over my shoulder.

My medium Prada Galleria is the one I use the most, it's great for professional and social occasions both and can fit quite a lot of stuff. Had it for years and still looks new!
