Uniqlo- what clothing would you recommend?

I'm new to them but see they are recommended on here. I'm 44, size 12/14 and 5ft 6.

I love Uniqlo but haven't loved the jeans from there.
I like their t-shirts and sweatshirts.

I really like the merino wool knitwear. Very reasonably priced and good quality. 😊

I like their ankle length pull on trousers for work.

Also cotton knitwear.

However I wish they did things in a slightly longer body length.

I would agree with Mike. I love pretty much all their tops but none of their bottoms. There's something about the sizing in the trousers that doesn't work for me.

Hard-working round neck jumpers, cardis, the ubiquitous ultra light down jackets, cashmere - all excellent and great quality. And I live in a layer of the Heat Tech vests or long-sleeved tops in the winter.

I've had ok jeans and trousers, but I noticed some of the jeans were a bit saggy after about an hour.
Trousers are in wearer's inside leg not the garment's inside leg, I think.
All the tops I've had from there have been ok.
I'm about 5'4" and the garment lengths are fine on me.

Merino wool jumpers, heattech long sleeved tops for winter, the new heattech fleece tops also for winter, the down jackets (the packable ones), the heattech leggings trousers, supima cotton t shirts for summer, some of the Ines knitwear (have a lovely fisherman’s jumper), heattech socks and tights, seamfree knickers (I like the full briefs), some of the plain skirts for work.

I’ve had good trousers from there before but don’t like their current range. Also never really got on with the jeans, though the jeggings (‘leggings trousers’) are ok. Also had a couple of good merino dresses but am waiting for the current ones to be in the sale and I don’t like the long V neck ones.

I keep an eye on the sale page and rarely pay full price for anything. Even the underwear is regularly on offer, at least a a multibuy.

Oh, I forgot: I’ve also got a couple of what uniqlo calls ‘stoles’ but I would call large cozy shawls. They’re really nice. One lives at work all winter so I can wrap up in it when the office is a bit chilly.

Think I need to fight TSSDNCOP for the title of uniqlo’s best customer!

Their trousers work for me but I’m apple shaped - big waist, small hips and bum and skinny legs. So maybe they don’t work for pear shaped ladies ??

BTW I’ve checked out the preview of the new collection and there’s a lot of autumn colours - browns, beige, warm peachy pink, grass green . Not so much for cool season people.

Great t-shirts and jumpers. I’ve read their puffers are the best value, not quite as good as the very high end technical outdoor clothing brands but much less expensive and very good for what you pay for. I also like their heat tech for layering in the winter. I don’t tend to do well with their trousers, but do have one pair I like (I’m more pear shaped).

I agree their trousers are quite Apple-y. The waist measurements are quite generous compared to the hip, I find. Even the garments which are sold by waist measurement I have to size down for, though I worked out this is because they are generally high waisted and seem to measure smallest part of waist rather than natural waist (I’m 30in round my natural waist, ie where my navel is, but wear Uniqlo trousers in a size 27in!).

We are massive fans of their t-shirts, knitwear (love their cashmere), dresses, skirts, Ines de la Fressange range, wool coats... I live in their Heat tech stuff during the winter. You get the point, we're walking adverts

I don't yet have a puffer coat, it's on my wishlist for this winter.

OP, I'd recommend a good long browse in one of their bigger stores, or order online for click + collect so you can try on in store and return things straight away.

Argh I wrote a long post earlier but it's gone! It's now going to sound very repetitive, but stand-outs are:
Merino and cashmere knitwear
Ultra Light Down jackets (amazing for layering)
Heat tech
The £12.90, 100% cotton Breton tops!
Poplin shirts
Ines de la Fressange blazers (I have my ups and downs with that range, it's not for the curvy)
Uniqlo U (thanks for the preview link! Had forgotten the new collection was imminent)

On the trousers, I'm a pear and some of my best trousers are from Uniqlo, mostly wide leg ones, in jersey, chinos and cord. But they are so variable - I got wide leg cropped cords there last year and went back this week to try this season's version and it's completely different - much shorter, tighter round the bum area. Really disappointed. FWIW though, they do a free alterations service in store (£3 if the item costs less than £20). Good for trouser length, if that's an issue.

I love their raincoats - minimal design, lightweight and slightly stretchy - everyone in our household owns one! Love their cashmere and merino, their non iron white fitted shirts, Uniqlo U t shirts and wide trousers, socks, have a very well worn down coat from a collaboration with Theory. Dh has loads of their shirts and for lovely raw denim jeans. Heat tech thermals of course for the whole family - white ones for under school shirts. Most days I wear at least one thing from Uniqlo!

I LOVE the UNIQLO U Jeans (without spandex). Being short of arse, I also love that they hem them for free (here in Aus). Love the UNIQLO U merino jumpers. They wash really well, too. Flannel shirts. Their wireless bras are super comfy.

Meant to add, the UNIQLO U high-waisted Jeans sans spandex hide mum-tums like no other jeans I have ever owned. (I carried twins. Have lost a lot of weight, am slim but have a lot of excess skin around the belly. Stretch jeans hide nothing, but you’d never know it was there in these, and they’re not at all uncomfortable!)
