I’m in love with my new long swishy skirts

48 and never worn long skirts before. I always felt boring, matronly and like I should be running through a meadow or milking a cow. But I ADORE these two newbies, please show me your gems if you have any of the same ilk?

I've got 2 gorgeous ones I got last year from Karen Millen in the sale. I love them. Long skirts are so comfy www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/karen-millen/asymmetric-maxi-skirt-ab0591?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAjw1rnqBRAAEiwAr29II6HTk9DTNCyOVek1dAD8H6OfnLU5hdvKnU9GnpAeXUf5BVBzF64mGhoC_XEQAvD_BwE#colcode=ab059100?istCompanyId=fd9c3f44-602b-46fe-8661-6b9a750107b9&istFeedId=dbe773b9-6a61-42f2-bbcb-6c6fdbaf30e1&istItemId=wqxrtiait&istBid=t

The green one is gorgeous OP.
I’d like one for work but need more formal shoes than the ones you’ve got on, and I’m not sure what would work in this context?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Sun 11-Aug-19 12:29:32

Ankle boots?

buttertoasty Sun 11-Aug-19 12:30:57

Snooks1971 Sun 11-Aug-19 12:31:32

I bought one from eko a few months ago, sadly not on the site anymore.
Gorgeous, makes my tummy look flat, lovely colour.
Wish they had more in other colours. I would buy them like a shot.

I love the first one!!

peachypetite Sun 11-Aug-19 12:44:07

They really suit your figure

SteelRiver Sun 11-Aug-19 13:09:26

Oh I love them, OP! I've recently started wearing this style of skirt, too. Here are the 3 I have.

The zebra stripe has 1 split and is from New Look, the snake print has 2 splits and is from Warehouse (bought via a StitchFix subscription box) and the blue striped one is pleated and from Oliver Bonas. I love them and wear them with white trainers like the OPs.

I’ve got this one from Hush which is chiffon, two layers. Goes with loads of things.

FenellaMaxwell Sun 11-Aug-19 13:15:55

Have a look at Kemi Telford. I loooooove her skirts!

gotmychocolateimgood Sun 11-Aug-19 13:20:42

Sadly I'm too short and dumpy for these but you look fab OP!

catspyjamas27 Sun 11-Aug-19 13:22:40

You look great op, I too love a swishy skirt but am sadly a bit too plump to carry them
Off well atm. I think they look lovely with a tee and trainers for a casual day look. You've nailed it

thebear1 Sun 11-Aug-19 13:26:47

I got one with buttons down the front, it's lovely until I sit down. Then the top bulges open round the buttons. I am going to sew up the holes. Now I will also sit down when trying on.

I've got the Hush Marina skirt too. I love it. In fact after this thread I might wear it tomorrow smile
