Just discovered Perfume Parlour...

I'm so late to this party, but Perfume Parlour is amazing isn't it?!

I have the oils of Dove fragrance and Oh Lola, and the Oh Lola really is close to the real thing once they have both been on the skin for a few minutes.

Have now ordered my all time favourite perfume Romance, and also JM Lime, Basil and Mandarin to see what's that like, can't wait for them to arrive! They are just so damn cheap!

Any other recommendations? Do PP do any Diptyque fragrances? I can't find them on a search but I don't know if they are under something else?

Also, the fragrance dust, is it any good? What is it made from, I guess it's still quite chemically?

And finally, DH never wears fragrance and I've never bothered getting him any as it would be such a waste of money and I think he would be a bit annoyed. But these are so cheap, I don't think he could moan at me for getting one to try! I'm totally clueless about men's fragrance, does anyone have any suggestions? I think I would quite like a sort of traditional 'aftershavey' smell rather than the tobacco/leather type ones I think? Summat sexy!

Thank you!

In terms of male fragrance, I like their oil version of Creed Aventus. The real edp version costs £185 for 50ml!

So are they perfume oils? How do you use them? Just dot them on skin?

They do sprays as well as oils. The oils come in little glass bottles with roller balls so are easy to apply.
I'm addicted to PP and have too many favourites to name - happy exploring!

Some are better than others. My favourites are their Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and I’m also liking their Byredo Bal d’afrique. Other good ones are

Black Orchid
Virgin Island Water
Wood Sage and Sea Salt

Wasn’t much for their Lime Basil Mandarin and Chloe

Do they have any scents that smell like essential oils- lavender, rose geranium etc?

Thanks everyone.

Yes I have just purchased the oils so far but they do sprats and other products as well.

I don't know if they have just eesential oil type fragrances, I don't think they do?

I just feel like I could buy so many of them!

Yes, if I want a new perfume, I always order it first from PP if they have it to get an idea of what the original smells like, proper perfumes are so expensive, don't want to make a mistake.

I think it's hit and miss. Previously I've been disappointed but I'd ordered oils. Recently I ordered their take on Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino in spray bottle and it's good! I also ordered their version of Jo Malone's Blue Agava & Cacao (again in a spray) - I'm not familiar with the real thing but my mum is delighted with it as she can't get it anymore.

For the price, it's worth taking the risk IMO.

Would you recommend the oil or the sprays? And how much oil do you need - if I got a small bottle would it have many wears?

Thanks

@Ellapaella how does Verset work - I had a look on their website but couldn't figure out how to find a dupe as all the perfumes seem to have their own name.

Loved most of the Jo Malone dupes. But the Blackberry & Bay and Red Roses sprays didn't work for me.
I rate the Tom Ford dupes. They smell as close as dammit and last much longer than the originals.

Yes, I just looked at Verset and couldn't work out how you would find which dupe was what? Plus they don't seem to have a big choice on there at the moment?

I feel like the oils would last forever. I bought the 6ml bottles and you use such a tiny amount (especially the Dove scent as it's so strong!). I haven't tried any sprays yet...

One thing I have read is that the oils don't have as good projection (sillage) because they don't have the alcohol in them to evaporate into the air? So they sit closer to the skin but are stronger? I don't know if anyone here knows if that's correct?

Also, learnt that 'sillage' is pronounced 'see-yazh' and not 'sill-age' 😂

I find the oils really strong tbh, less is definitely more. With all the JM ones they last all day one me.

I don't think I have ever used an oil bottle up,they last forever! I only buy the smallest ones available.

I bought a Daisy spray once but didn't like it ,but liked the oil, so never bought anything but oils since.

Freeze cyan. It's an aftershave (ice blue or something I think) but doesnt smell like it. Its minty, clean, fresh and lovely.
