nomdeplume Thu 26-Jul-07 12:18:09

bad for your own hair

HIDEOUS when they start to get to the stage where they start coming loose

nomdeplume Thu 26-Jul-07 12:18:33

(well, you did ask !)

americantrish Thu 26-Jul-07 12:19:48

nomdeplume> ohh i'm just curious. i dont want them! if i want longer hair, i'll wait and grow it...(and live under a hat in the meantime ;)) i'm more or less wondering about other people's experiences with them!

MrsBadger Thu 26-Jul-07 12:20:08

am with NdP, I'm afraid...

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 12:22:01

Doesn't sound too good then.. but I'd so love to have really long hair and I struggle to get it grow without it looking ratty.

Pete those cheekbones..hasn't aged terribly well though..mind you, neither has Robert

lulumama Thu 26-Jul-07 12:22:16

had them a couple of years ago....were fantasti c, very natural, and looked marvellous... didn;t last as long as i had hoped though, possibly because i was pregnant, and my hair was going barmy !!

did find my hair was finer after they had been removed...

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 12:23:17

Hi Lulu! <waves>

lulumama Thu 26-Jul-07 12:26:49

hi sweets <<waves back!>> alright?

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 12:28:37

Yep, doing ok! Still get a bit confused about the whole Hillary thing..but will not hijack this thread! How's you?

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 12:32:11

Any news on a potential meetup with the bar and tearoom folks?

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 12:32:50

Anyway, how much did you pay for your extensions and how long did they last in the end?

lancarra Thu 26-Jul-07 13:38:48

I do my own extensions using tape nobody has detected them, I used to have bonded extensions but they do thin the hair, so I don't use this method even though I have trained to do it. The tape puts no stress on the hair and is very comfortable to wear.

michaelad > mmmmm peter murphy........;)
each time i've had the pleasure of seeing him in concert (once in philly and in london in 2005), i've been front puurrrrrrrrrr! robert looks ok for his age... last time i saw him on anything, he was a bit sweaty

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 13:53:01

oh those were the days..proper goth i was..
Bauhaus, Pete Murphy, Sisters, Cure, Fields of the Nephilim (only saw them a couple of weeks ago..great fun!)

americantrish Thu 26-Jul-07 15:27:38

ahh yes, i miss my goth days often... well, then again, i still listen to a lot of it anyway! i'll be listening to the Cure sometimes and think WOW this song is 20 years old! and it just hits home sometimes... and that i've been a fan of them for 16 years....!

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 17:49:10

I still listen to a lot of it too. It will never really go away..and that's a good thing!
You should see my ds2 godfather..always dressed in black and hair down to his waist..divine! [grins]

lulumama Thu 26-Jul-07 17:53:27

<< all well here... thanks for news re meet up as far as i know...>>

americantrish Thu 26-Jul-07 18:00:52

where does your ds2 godfather live again? ;)
its good music...good music doesnt go away..or be forgotten

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 21:49:00

You realise you're only an hour away from me..we could meet up and talk gothy stuff and the olden golden days over a coffee

Hideehi Thu 26-Jul-07 22:00:34

I've had them, 2 things you need to know
They hurt going in and being tightened every six weeks, i've had 5 kids and a boob job, the extentions were the worst.
2nd, they are much harder to look after than your own hair, they knot up and can be difficult to blow dry.
I've had mine 2 months and will keep them another 6 weeks at most by which time my hair should have grown a bit.
I'm glad i had them done but wouldn't have them done again unless I went for the £1,000 real russian hair.

michaelad Thu 26-Jul-07 22:02:09

how much did it cost you?
