Acid toner - muslin cloth instead of cotton pads??

Trying to reduce single use anything - could I use a muslin for my acid toner, dry on radiator and chuck in the wash every week??

would it be absorbent enough? I use clothes for cleansing but can't quite imagine how it would work for a liquid. Might just be me though!

Maybe fold and use different bits of the Muslin?

I have been looking at toner application options too! The other day I just applied with my fingers, and it felt fine afterwards.

I guess it depends whether you're using it as a final step on clean skin, or want to draw out any excess dirt/makeup etc. as well?

I started just using my fingers when I bought a really expensive acid treatment toner and it was fine. I hadn't realised how much wastage there was with using a cotton pad. My toner is lasting ages, so you could get a budget plus and an environmental plus at the same time.

You can get washable make up remover pads. You should be able to use those for toner. I’m considering investing in some.

It's generally as an exfoliator on clean skin so I could try fingers but it's very watery so might slide off!

You can get reuseable cotton pads 😊 I have these whiterabbitskincare.co.uk/products/reusable-eco-friendly-make-up-remover-pads-pack-of-7 but there are others.

I don't think it matters if it slid off because you only need the tiniest amount.

Some toners like the Liz Earle one comes in a spray bottle, maybe you could decant your fave toner into one of those? Unless it's an acid toner then I get why you might want the wiping action of course.

I use reusable cotton pads and wash them every week with my seven flannels, bed linen and towels!

Yes. So, I use my acid toner with reusable cotton pads and wash them every week with my flannels etc. I've done it tonight with glycolic acid toner. I've been doing it for years.

I always just put into the palm of my hand and then pat on and massage in. Found I was going through so much with cotton pads etc. Works well for me.

I like to sweep the glycolic acid over my pores. Lactic I pat on.

I've tried the muslin tonight and seemed to work ok - drying on the rad overnight so will see if it's good to go again tomorrow!

I pat on Liquid Gold with clean fingers and sometimes do the same with Pixi Glow.

I wish Nip+Fab would do theirs as a liquid, to save on the single-use presoaked pads (which are admittedly convenient).

I use the pixie glow stuff and either use my fingers or part of a muslin cloth and it works well. Haven’t bought cotton wool pads in maybe a year now.
