WideWebWitch · 02/07/2007 07:45

This is week two of the fifth boot camp of 2007 everyone is welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

forgot to post everyone's stakes sorry, feel free to post again why you're doing this boot camp (yeah right, more like a holiday camp for some of us )

Weekend ok but exhausting - was singing in a fund-raising concert at church, plus at a wedding, plus dh was on duty (churchwarden - it's a lot more work than one would think) plus family commitments - am bushed.

resend pls, batters - I think there were some funnies with my account for some reason .

I am here (wearing sunscreen and drinking coffee with no sugar) because I am a fat bloater who needs to get fit to chase after dd and ds. Oh, and look radiant at bridezilla SIL's wedding next summer

Someone on here has won herself a break at EuropaPark, hasn't she Torty? well done

A happy day to one and all

My weekend was ok too but I am not sleeping so the exhausted looked is getting worse

I was quite miserable yesterday. I definitely need to work on the happiness thing, up the water intake and goodness knows what I do about the sleep. (I didn't drink alcohol over the weekend maybe thats why I didn't sleep )

the thing about bringing lunch to work is that it doesn't last until lunchtime

Hi, thank you for the congrats. Sadly we won't be able to go, it looks lovely, so I asked MN to pass it on to someone else. Oh well....!!!

Wotcher
I personally would like to feel a bit less appallingly drab and treestumpy in editorial meetings with glowing young gurls

Weekend was a bit stressful as Mr Inferior was away. I gather my response to his return last night was a bit lacking in the 'oh my darling I have been so bereft at your terrible absence, oh I have missed you body - especially body, oh take me take me you compelling master of my desires - and soul' front, consisting as it did of 'it's all very well for you, you've been away, and now I'm going back to sleep'

I drank an appalling amount last night at an outdoor Jools Holland concert and had the mother of all headaches this morning. Serves me right. As a result I had comfort food - toast - most of the morning! I really need to grow up.
On the plus side had make-up done in Debenhams (needed eye ideas) and the girl said I had great skin and obviously looked after it. Although I know she was only flattering me to sell me stuff at least I could answer with honesty that I'm a slave to my factor 30!!

tortoiseshell, whyever not? Don't tell me they're only offering it in term-time I'm so sorry you can't go
I'm right there with the "my daughter can now do her own shopping and I still look raddled" feeling .
Work is extremely stressful and am going to have to go to earth for a while I think, to be on the safe side. Will still post on here though. Not least to be cheered up in the face of a rainsoaked summer
Managed my walking all right but undid the good work with a consolation white chocolate and raspberry muffin, for shame

swedishmum, you must have dodged the showers. Love Jools, he is localish to us and very local to where we used to live

I am not a big drinker anymore (used to be, pre-children) but they played me up so much today that I wanted to go out, get hopelessly drunk and fall out of a taxi at some unsuitable hour. Instead, as you can see, I am on Mumsnet, in between bouts of cleaning. I am a SAHM, but rarely get any house stuff done during the day as DS gets up to mischief if unattended for too long. He has spent today trashing the house - I am not sure what to do about his behaviour, but that is another thread!

Did a long run yesterday but have not managed many steps today. This rain doesn't make me want to step out for a stroll much, though I know someone (WWW?) on here loves walks in the rain.

Off to drink some water and maybe do a bit more cleaning. Life is just one hectic, glamorous whirl these days

Have a bad case of non sleeping and was up from 1.30 until 5 last night not helped by the rain! Am sick of the weather and my constant stress induced headache and off back to bed today!

I too like the rain for walking in (loathe walking in heat) but even I am getting sick of the rain at the moment. Batters I think laughing at it is the only way really good for you & dd.

I have hideouss cold today and would quite like to curl up in bed with a book and a hot toddy Chance would be a fine thing.

Dd has officially moved out and is now living in B&B

GF, I am not sleeping either at the moment so many sympathies.

Marina, I am sorry work is so stressful.

Cerys, sorry you are finding ds difficult at the moment. How old is he?

Sorry to hear that Winnie. Is the B&B close to you?
Today I'm wearing a jumper, tweed trousers and went out in boots. Can't believe it in July. It's 14 degrees here.

morning all. I have kept quiet as I'm really not doing very well with this but so far this week things seem to be improving. My motivation is that we're moving abroad in 6 weeks and I want to be healthy and new startish for the trip. Just need to avoid the tea cakes in the meantime.

Had loads of water and salady things in the last couple of days and continued with lots of walking. Off to a mother and baby coffee thing later so that may be my undoing...

Hello!

GF and Winnie, sorry both aobut your terrible sleeping. And sorry about dd too winnie.

Cerys, lol at glamour, ikwym, I do. I crave glamour sometimes. I recommend Jilly Cooper's Polo or Riders or Rivals for inxtant transportation to glamourous Glos and serial shagging and other shenanigans. Gosh, that I am old enough to use words like that without even thinking about it...

Batters, that's good, lowest for 8 years!

MI, my response may well have been similar given same situation. Sympathy on young glossy gurls, ewww.

TS, why can't you go? What a shame.

Marina, sorry to hear about work stress, it's the pits. Do bookmark this thread and subsequent ones at least If you want to, that is, there's no obligation here.

Right, did everyone read WHAT INDIA SAID ABOUT WINE????? She said wine and most booze is like just sitting and eating teaspoons and teaspoons of sugar and will therefore scupper a diet. I know I knew that anyway but still, it';s a nice motivating image for me.

Good day so far,
granola
Wotsits
strawberries, grapes, raspberries
and have sardine sandwich for lunch.
am at home as ds sent home from school (he'll be fine, need medicine to kick in) so unexpected lovely day off. He's playnig Playstation now he's had some Nurofen and I'm here. The washing machine is on, vanilla candles buringin in the kitchen to get rid of fish smell from last night...

No, they're not just offering it in term time, there's the whole of July and the first half of August, but ds1 doesn't finish till towards the end of July, and then we've arranged family things (family coming over from overseas etc).

I asked JJ to pass it on to someone else, so hopefully someone else will be able to take it!

www, I didn't know what ts was refering to as I don't often go into active conversations at the mo... but motivated by nosiness I went to look and as soon as I spotted that thread line I knew it would be the one you'd started. Good for you. A definite result

I've had an exhausting day feeling rotten thanks to feeling full of a cold (which seems to have hit me hard) but bootcamp still going well. Batters, I feel like a stalker but I am about to hit my lowest weight for 8 years too Well done us Realised today I have lots of Boots points to spend on lotions and potions tomorrow which will be nice

I've been to see where dd is staying. It's grim but I am hopeful that she is going to pick herself up and sort herself out now. She is finally making some positive decisions. She is making a big effort with me and a big effort with ds.
