Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease find me a Christening dress for 17 month old dd

Currently 16 months, but Christening is a month away. I spent ages searching online recently, and the one I chose was this . The largest size it comes in is 12-18 months, but having bought it, I find that the sizing is rubbish, as it's too small even now.

So it's back to square one.

I want something simple but pretty - the dress I had chosen should give you an idea of the sort of thing I like.

Dd will ruin the dress on the day with either food or mud, so I don't want it to be extortionately expensive. Will go up to £50 happily, but only consider higher if it's absolutely boooooootiful.

Over to you......

Have you looked here ?

No, I've not come across them before hoppybird. I quite like H9 and H14, but would prefer them not to have the dark bits on.

Any more suggestions anyone?

H14 comes in this version too, if that's any better.

I'd looked at Monsoon already, and love their party dresses, but their bridesmaids dresses are all too coloured or too lacy. I just don't do lace! That said, I do quite like this one, which meets my 'simple' criteria, but I would prefer one with a big floaty skirt part.

Am I too fussy?!

That 'Ava' one only goes up to 12 months Chippy.

I actually like H14 less in that colour hoppy - sorry!

Be fussy! It's a big occasion. Bhs wedding range?

Sorry i just noticed that - they probably only show what's in stock - shame.

tortoise - dare I say that the first link is the epitomy of everything I hate about Christening dresses?!
I like some of the ones on your third link though - annoyingly the one I like best ends at 18 months, so unless it's generous on the sizing, I suspect it will also be too small! Will show the site to dh and see what he thinks, as the ones I like are of course over budget.

Oh I looked at the bhs wedding range Chippy, and they do have some nice stuff, but it all seems to start from age 2, so too big! It seems that she's just the wrong age to fit into either category!

does she fit into Blooming Marv 12-18m?

I'm not sure that she would fit BM 12-18 MrsBadger. The second Next one looked quite nice (though I prefer short sleeves to no sleeves) until I zoomed in and saw the ruddy great flower fanning out from the waist .

Saw that one in their catalogue brand, but didn't think it was 'special' enough for her Christening.

I have a christening dress from Mothercare which is 12-18 months and has never been worn, due to our inability to organise a christening . It's not as plain as the one you like, but not too frilly.

I could take a picture if you're interested.

Lol Idris! How are you? Have you joined MN local for our area yet - haven't seen you there!

Am happy to look at pic if you promise it isn't lacy and you won't take offense if I don't like it! Though I fear that she's going to be pushing it to get into most 12-18 month stuff.

May I recommend bhs wedding range for your dd if you do get round to organising one!

I'm suspecting that LA size 2 is from age 2 rather than up to age 2. Do you know if that's right?

There's a rosebud smocked dress on Rachel Riley that I quite like, but can't decide if it's 'Christeningy' enough or not. What do you lot think? (links to her site don't generally work to individual dresses, but if you search the site you should find it)

I saw the Rachel Riley one but couldnt' quite bring myself to recommend an £80 cotton dress.

And this one's prettier anyway...

Ah, did you not see the '30% off everything' bit on RR when you first enter the site ?

Which of the 2 do you think is better for a Christening?
